Not forgotten this thread but things are moving VERY (frustratingly) slowly.

Bike is booked in for a new headlight to be fitted on 2 Nov (started this thread on 19 Sept!!!!!!)

Fingers crossed it cures the problem.

I'll report back on the 2nd!

I have to declare myself as something of a cynic over problems like this, but I would be amazed to hear Yamaha are conceding to a major component replacement to try to solve a ghost issue, under warranty.

Just to make sure of the actuality, I would suggest that you apply a discreet indelible marker code/reference to the back your old headlight, that you can check later. The down time you are suffering, right at the end of the season, must be very frustrating.

Good point.

Luckily no downtime as such as I also have a Tiger 800 and my trusty 1150GS. Had the S10 been my only bike I would have gone elsewhere long ago

Dealer fitted new headlight today which also came with a new wiring harness

Lets hope that this marks the end of the saga.
