I have not had a problem with mice in my shop for years, until a few days ago.
I was going to use my Dremel tool and when I opened the large case, I found enough clean acorns, to last a couple of mice a long time. ARRRGH..

So I dumped the food reserve, and set up the traps. Now I usually keep traps set, but had gotten a little lax.
Today I caught the 2nd little chit and I think that was the only two. I have not found the nest yet, so there may be more.

Ok, next step was to check the air cleaner on the bike. That was clean, and I decided that was enough work for one day. I went riding.. ::26::
I guess the moral to this story is, never let your guard down.
For those that have stored a bike in the shed, you may want to put some traps down, if you haven't yet. ::024::

My mouse trap:

She doesn't work cheap though, and doesn't clean up after herself.

Hey, those are both great looking dogs... Mine is 14 and retired, all she does is sleep and eat. Kinda reminds me of myself. ::025::

Thanks for the reminder, I need to go deploy some fresh poison to the wood shed and the garage.

Chemical warfare is my weapon of choice. ;D

Our 21 year old cat died in 2010. He was death on rodents until the last few years, but even after he stopped killing them, they stayed away while he was alive. But this year they returned in force. Chipmunks have committed suicide in my clothes dryer vent, and dug holes all around the house, and something ate all my strawberries over the summer. No sign of anything in the garage yet, but I am keeping a close watch. Another cat will find us soon, I am sure.

Better get a new cat or a few traps before they get in your new scoot or maybe your car....... Heard a story today of a "rodent" getting into the serpentine belt of a Ford F250 Diesel.. Ran the motor down the road and on the high way a bit. Broke the belt, threw parts into the radiator and inter cooler, Etc... That was like $2000 +

I live in the country so having critters is common. Had a mouse/rat chew the wires under the intake on an f150. Had one chew the wires on the A/C compressor. Had a mouse chew the wires on a Toyota Camry and burned the sucker to the ground.

I have had cats, dogs, hawks(free) and traps. When you live on the edge of fields it is tough..

Not totally. We once lived in a house that had a large field behind us and we would get them in the yard, but none ever made it to the garage. When we lived the toolies, we had a good mouser cat. Our cat today doesn't even know what a mouse is!

My Mice (and Rabbit) hunters!
I had two beagles while growing up. Love those dogs. Beagle "music" when they're on the trail is one of the sweetest sounds ever.

I found a mouse nest underneath the seat of my old V-Strom once. I went on a motorcycle camping trip and I knew that my site had mice because I could hear them at night rustling through the leaves. As soon as I got back home I began finding evidence of mice in my garage. I put out a few traps and didn't think much about it until I removed my seat a while later. There was a large nest in the storage area by the brake light. Those little bastards invaded my bike while I was camping and then hitched a ride home with me. ::010::
