they stopped producing these at 2016 AFAIK. But with different engines along the years.
Wow... did it out last the Beatle? Know they sold em in Mexico in nearly original spec for ages.

Sorry, but those were gutless; 225hp. Had a decent suspension and great brakes, but everything else had more HP. The LT-1 Caprice had the motor, but no brakes. The Charger was the closest thing to the whole package.
Talk about no brakes, back in the later 80's, we had the smaller Ford LTD with the 5.0 in it. They were just as fast as the Mustang, but for some reason, they kept the same small brakes that came with the 6 cylinder version, most got less than 7,000 miles, if that out of a set of pads. Went to the "Shamu" (Caprice) after that.

. . . . Went to the "Shamu" (Caprice) after that.
The Shamu was fast as hell, but the ABS didn't work well, and the pads/rotors heated way to fast. Went through a barbed wire fence because it wouldn't stop. The best would have been the box body of the '90 Caprice, the brakes of the '92 Crown Vic, and the LT-1 from Shamu.

This was mine when it was still running. I added chassis rails to hold it together and, because Ford are useless here at providing parts needed, I put 13” rotors on the front (up from the standard 10”) that were made for Holden (GM).

It’s on the hoist now waiting for the Steeda QA-1 front end, the 2003 Cobra IRS with Full Tilt Boogie upgrades and changing the scoop to be the one from the Boss-9.

Can’t trust anyone in this country to do the work because almost nobody here has ever worked on one.

They were damn reliable and saved lives. Caprice was more powerfull and liked for that but,

Proper panthers didn't make way till the late 90's I think. By 03 they got it mostly sorted. Still shot spark plugs till 07 I think. Which was the year of my vic. Last generation which ended in 2011 as we covered.

I could be wrong. I have a drinking problem.

No disrespect to the caprice. They are cool but they where long gone by the time I was a teen sitting in the back being a dumbass mf...

Fox bodies are sick. Buddy of mine built one into a full on semi pro drift rig. Full cage. A tad heavy in the wrong places. Better for drag racing.

State troopers of various states had these. Super cool rigs.
