Someone must be a Frank Zappa fan ! LOL - welcome to the asylum mate. I am new here myself, and I am in between bikes at the moment, seriously looking at the Sup Ten right now to replace a BMW 1200GS Rallye edition that I sold recently. I’ve been loving riding the beemer bikes for about 15 years, but just getting weary of the service costs when needed…. I think they are great bikes, no doubt overpriced ( overpriced like Harley Davidson is same ) but have a friend over in Texas with a 2012 Tenere, he has owned since new in ‘12 , loves his bike and no real negatives about it from him .
no problems with Beemers that I owned but the internet sure loves to rag on them.
I’m not a bike bigot, I say ride what you like and ride as much as you can, while you can. Somtimes it is just about personal preference and budget. I’ve been able & willing to afford the cost of ownership to have the BMW’s, and I’ve enjoyed them. with that said, at this stage of life- I am still able to but I dont know that I am still willing to pay the difference in cost of ownership…….. simple as that.
Hope you enjoy many miles of smiles with the new bike, sir. ;-)

Had an '04 RT for 6yrs, and 60k miles. I was on my third drive shaft, 5th clutch, 2nd kickstand, and 3rd starter. I will admit that it was a great bike for the first couple of years. But, my Yamahas have never needed anything but G.T.O. No, wait, my '81 Seca needed new clutch springs at 30k miles; $12.50. I still have my '86 FJ, and expect the Tenere to be as carefree as the rest of them.

But, you're right . . . . don't ride it if you don't like it. What's the point?

Cheers CC..
Zappa. Freakin genius.
Ive had a coupla european bikes and found them to be way higher maintence (pita) than the jap stuff. i drive jap utes and use makita tools for work. i like drama free. im approaching 5000km for the 1st month odd of ownership on the new yammie and would descrbe it as a riders bike. hands down most user friendly i've ever ridden. 1000k days? try that on a griso or such like.
so far so good with the s10. get one!
