I had an Electra Glide, which had a 6 gallon tank, which I believe is the same for the Road King. I use to average mid 40's on fuel. So pretty close to the Tenere. What is the fuel range on that thing?
Rich Urban Bikersquid I understand but what is "RUB or RUBs"?
if I was going to carry my wife with me on a touring or just a regular basis , I would have an electra glide , street glide . but she don't ride so I don't need a suburban to ride by myself.
Whaaaat?! A 150 hp H-D? Potentially 100lbs lighter than the T-12? Is it a V-4? Because if it's a twin, why isn't that motor in all of their bikes. And, "luxury ADV bike". . . . is the T-12 a "luxury ADV bike"?. $20k. . . . making it one of the more affordable "luxury ADV bikes". I have no issues, or any animosity toward H-D, but, don't piss on my leg, and tell me it's rain. Lastly. . . . "surpass the GS in every way"? So. . . . IF it were to "surpass" the Beemer. . . . that would put H-D as having the best ADV bike out there? (since Beemer is consider the best now, and all) I can see it now: ADV bike shootout. . . . H-D unseats the reigning champion BMW. Bahahaaaa!Pricing for the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Will Start Around $17,000
First heard on the Brap Talk, pricing for the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 will start at $17,000, with plenty of features offered below $20,000.www.asphaltandrubber.com
It is a watercooled V-twin. Not difficult at all to get over 145+ crank HP from one.I'm serious when I ask about that motor. What is it? Obviously looks water cooled, and possibly a V-4. If they could deliver a 150hp motor. . . . they might sell more bikes. . . . any of them.
At first glance it looks like a VROD engine, but it's all new. It's a 60 degree v twin, liquid cooled, 1250cc, 145+ hp, 90+ pounds-feet of torque and probably chain driven DOHC. They call it the Revolution Max engine. I have a friend who works there in engine development and testing... Wonder what the tail light looks like?I'm serious when I ask about that motor. What is it? Well, with that much power. . . . you'll know soon enough.... Wonder what the tail light looks like?
The XR was the first, and pretty much only, H-D that I liked as soon as I saw it. Which apparently meant that real Harley riders would not like it. For Harley? That light at the end of the tunnel? It's the Indian train. Or should that be the Indigenous American/Native American train? The names Washington Redskins, and Cleveland Indians are no more, so . . . . What's Indian Inc. going to do?. . . . For those who think Harleys can't handle, this will be lighter and a half again more horsepower than the XR1200 . . . .
Those appear to be 17" wheels to me. Making a 17" wheel that is able to handle well and be even be fun does not seem like a big a task for a modern bike maker. The Pan American appears to me to be a 19" wheel. I think that is a whole lot more of a challenge.Less torque and more hp than the 1250 GS at 50 lbs less weight implies faster in stop light racing. For those who think Harleys can't handle, this will be lighter and a half again more horsepower than the XR1200 which were FUN bikes and the Indian FTR1200 seems to be based in.
I think the success of the Pan is really going to come down to how the power is delivered (can it walk slow too?) and how the chassis is set up. Hopefully they won't repeat the negatives that happened going from the XR1200 to the Street Rod.
Me tooI want to ride one .
