I typically prefer a flatter, straighter, narrower bar than what comes on the S10. I'm not keen on the angle they put on my wrist, and I seem to get a pressure point on the inside of my right thumb because of this.
I have Moose CR-Lo bars on the 1000 Strom, with 3/4" cut off each end, and whenever I switch between the Strom and the S10 I'm struck by the less barge-like feeling of the Strom. I know some of that is down to less weight, but a lot of it has to do with bars and riding position I think.
I don't want the same bend on the Super Tenere, mostly because I appreciate how much easier it is to get up on the pegs and stay there with the higher bars. But less angle on the wrists and less width would be very nice.
I guess my choices are limited a) cos they have to be Fatbars (right? 1" tapering to 7/8") and b) cos I want steel not aluminium. I've had the experience of severely bending a steel bar in the middle of nowhere, but a 40 mile ride with a vertical throttle got me to an oxy set and with heat we were able to straighten the bars as good as new. Wouldn't be possible with aluminium.
Anyone know of anything that might work for me?
These are my current Moose (unfortunately not in red!)
