I really miss my forward pegs from my prior bike. I like to stretch out on longer rides. Given the curvature of the AltRider bars I haven't come up with a placement for forward pegs. Any ideas?
Incidentally, I really appreciate your complex sense of humor. It seems this forum is generally a pretty tight-assed, humourless, group. Reminds me a great deal of my dear departed maternal grandfather (who I loved dearly in spite of his dour nature) Haarumph!Freebird said:Cracks me up...how does something like that get in your garage and you don't know where they came from? Boys without toys can be a rather grumpy gaggle of glum-face ghouls. I'm always grumpy. I'm even grumpier when I can't ride. It's raining... again. Like that's a surprise. It's Portland. It rains... a lot!SisuTen said:It seems this forum is generally a pretty tight-assed, humourless, group.
Tight-assed? TIGHT-ASSED ???????? Boy, some nerve .... I looked it up and ....It seems this forum is generally a pretty tight-assed, humourless, group.
Exactly what I was thinking. Could have used them today.mobyfubar said:Here is my highway peg solution:

Rem, THAT presents a picture I'd really rather not visualize, I'll never be able to look at a walnut in the same way again!! ???rem said:Well, I won't comment any further ..... other than to say that I just cracked a dozen walnuts without the benefit of mechanical devices. RR
Do it! I was given my first opportunity on US 34 here in the mountains...downhill.....and was pleasantly surprised (after being a bit tense). I'd have chosen a flat test site if I'd had the choice, but the downpour snuck up on me. The bike was superb, the TC worked perfectly and the ABS even better after coming up on cars who were much more tentative than I. :Freebird said:Its raining here today, trying to decide if i want to get out in it and test the traction control. Is that a little like wanting to test the air bag in the car? Hmmmmm. No wonder wife's just shake their heads.
Thanks for clearing that up, Paul. Now at least I can stop trying to prove myself with the walnuts. Boy, is my @$$ sore. But I hear that all the time .... especially when my wife's birthday rolls around. I dunno, man, ten bucks just doesn't go as far as it used to. Lord knows I try ....... RFact is, boys, I wasn't trying to be disrespectful at all. I usually relate my feelings bluntly via a pretty poor means, and often am unsuccessful, and even more often misunderstood.
Looks good, except with my long legs, I want them about a foot lower than where yours are mounted. I have the AltRider bars and was looking at peg mounting locations this weekend. I can't lift my legs up high enough to place my feet on pegs mounted anywhere on the bars without having my knees in my face and leaning way back. If my legs were shorter it still would seem like visiting a GYN for a pelvic exam. Seriously, mounting pegs to the sides of the skid plate would work better for me.mobyfubar said:Here is my highway peg solution:

Rem has started a trend toward visual imagery that's just plain wrong, but in fairness I simply MUST ask, are you male or female? And are you bald? Enquiring minds want to know. ::26::BaldEagle said:Looks good, except with my long legs, I want them about a foot lower than where yours are mounted.
