One thing about the Ozello Trail, if you want to eat at Peck's, the restaurant at the end, it is best to arrive 11:30 - 11:45 or it can be packed with cruiser & sport bike crowds resulting in a potential wait time for a table. Very good road, pretty good food.

Um, the get-together looks like a great time!!! The location just speaks crawly things like this pic!!!! I think for reasons such as this pic, I wouldn't be caught there at all. No Snakes for me...Thank-You!!!!

Enjoy your ride everyone!!!!
:D As far as I know, the exotic snake problem is centered around Everglades Nat'l Park in the southern part of Florida. Ocala is in the northern part of the state, west of Daytona beach, from what I can gather.

Yup, that’s true. Those snakes are a big problem down in the Glades and its getting worse because the snakes and gators are fighting over the limited food supply…and sometimes with each other. Gross!

Stinkin' snakes are a problem all over Florida. My boss's dog went chasing after a Frisbee into some bushes in a park in Seminole, came out all disoriented & fell over. They rushed it to a vet who initially thought the dog was shot because of the single hole in his head. Turned out it was a snake bite from a large one-fanged poisonous serpent. The dog was put down to preclude its suffering.

I personally watched a snake on Honeymoon Island cross the road and was so long that its head was over the center line and a portion of its tail was still in the roadside grass as it slithered across. Had to have been some sort of python or boa I would assume. I had a copperhead try to take up residence in my garage & although he was small he was pretty darn feisty.

Weather’s looking like rain tomorrow and Friday, clear over the weekend. Bring your rain gear. Looks like it’s gonna warm though.

This place is a campground so make sure you bring your own towels and stuff like that. If you forget anything, there are some department stores, Sports Authority, convenience stores and places like that close by.

The blues bruthers are ready to roll …
… see ya.

I got killed at work this week! Have not had time to get a damn thing ready! But on a good note I got somebody to cover for me in the morning so I do not have to go into work. It will be a late night tonight and I will finish packing up tomorrow morning and probably head out around 10. I will shoot ya a text when I head out with my expected eta at the camp grounds. Have a safe ride! ::003::

Well, three Super Teneres showed for the 2012 FGT. ::012::

Left to right in the first photo below, me, Coastie (John) and Torque6988 (James), and James rode all the way in from Huntsville, Alabama to join us!

Some camped. Some, like me and my 17yo son who rode this event, went for the neat little cabins at base camp in Ocala.

In spite of on ‘n off threatening weather, we had some great rides out into the Ocala National Forest, did the famous Green Swamp Loop on Saturday and when the weather looked like it was going to be real bad Friday morning, we ducked into the Don Garlits Drag Racing and Classic Car Museum. Very cool place, if you’re ever in Ocala. We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to get Coastie out of there. :)

James, John and ride coordinator Gary (<rode an 86 Magna) at Garlits

The Super10s next to a hundred foot tall WWII era missile at a VFW out in the ONF. Could be a nuke, not sure.

By way of background, there’s a big section of ONF that's been used for live bombing practice since WWII. That’s not where we were in the photo above, but that’s sorta the history. The bombing track is fenced off ‘cuz there’s still supposed to be live bombs in there.

John at a fuel stop right before we entered Green Swamp.

My 17yo son Sam, James, John, and Gary.

James’ friend that tagged along. :D

We rode to Cedar Key out in the Gulf Scrub for lunch on Friday after the Garlits museum.

Sam, John, Dan (<Honda Interstate), and James on a break during the Green Swamp Loop.

John and James coming back from a quick trip down a sandy strip in the Swamp.

The S10s only needed one gas stop on Saturday. The others needed about three. Glad we found this place in the Swamp.

My son was in charge of keeping the camp fires burning back at home base.

This was the first big trip with the kid now that he’s on a decent sized bike. This is out in the ONF with his 2006 FZ6 I recently got him. He had a great time, although I think he drove everyone crazy. :)

Looking forward to 2013 or maybe a Florida Tenere gathering this summer.

Nice report Twitch, looks like everyone had a great time.
I can imagine that having your son along, on his own bike, was a great father/son bonding experience.

Regards, Paul
