I have the yoshimura coming tomorrow ::015:: Ill let you know how I like it after I put it on. Went with yoshi because I have 2 bros on my SV1000 and they are loud! The SV still sounds good just too loud for long range trips.

I just installed the Yoshimura and I am pleased so far. Not much different sound at idle than stock but much louder when on the throttle. Nice rumble at highway speeds but didn't seem bad with a helmet on. It is much lighter. My first ride after installing it was the first for me this year. I don't remember being able to lift the front tire off the ground during acceleration before the Yosh. Could be I just don't remember being it has been 6 months since I rode it last.

Nope. Folks have done both hammer work and some skill saw work to get clearance.

Anyone install a Delkevic slip on and can comment on the exhaust tone and loudness?

Anyone have an actual weight measurement for the stock muffler?

I like the Delkevic shorty. sounds good without being obnoxious. And the price is right. I think it was $209. at that price if you don't like it, you can sell it and get almost all your money back . Which was my intention if Ididn't like it, sell it and buy the Yosh.

I had the Yosh with welded in baffle, too loud and not in a good way, to me it sounded like sloppy farts on the overrun. Put the stock can back on

I started the Delkevic thread here. I've had mine for a couple thousand miles and could not be happier. It is not too loud but the exhaust note has a nice growl. Last weekend, I rode with a guy on a BMW Gs1200. After a section where he was behind me, he told me he was in love with the sound of my exhaust and asked what brand it was.

Bottom line is that you are not going to get more power out of a slip-on. For me it was all about weight savings and the Delkevic was over 10 pounds lighter than the stock anchor. In addition, it sounds great with the DB insert so why would anyone spend big bucks on a slip-on?

probably familiarity and consistency of quality from Yoshimura. For me, I wanted something a tad quieter than most of the aftermarket exhausts out there and did not want to spend up on the Ackrapovic. So far I'm liking the new version of the Yosh with the downward firing split tip a the end. It seems to handle the reversion/deceleration exhaust sound in a unique way, less popping noise, but who knows that may change after it breaks in a bit.

I think that Delkavic unit is a great buy for sure. My buddy wants to get something for his Tenere and he prefers it a tad louder than I so it might be a great fit for him, also with that removable baffle I know he'll be trying that too. Looking for videos I could not find a good quality video of the Delkavic, more lower grade videos, hard tell what sort of sound it has. Seems louder than the Yosh with db killer installed.

The Yoshi signature slip on is quieter then the RS4, I really like mine.
What's the difference and how can you tell which is which?

When I ordered mine from Revzilla, it's listed like this with both descriptors in the description: Yoshimura RS4 Signature Slip-On Exhaust Yamaha Super Tenere 2012-2016

Is there a different RS4 / Signature version on the Yoshi? I always thought there was only 1 kind.

Am looking out for a more bassy exhaust, maybe the Delkevic shorty. I filter too often and need to let cagers know I am near.

What size is the Delkevic shorty? Is it the 14". Thanks

decooney -- I didn't see that you mentioned what year your S10 was. I have a 2012 and found the exhaust too quiet and adapted a StainTune from a KTM640. However, I recently purchased a 2014 S10 and find the exhaust note is perfect. Perhaps Yamaha changed the internals of the muffler in the 2014 redo---??? Both S10's have had their ECU's reflashed, but doubt if that has any appreciable influence on the sound.

I put a Delkevic 14" shorty on my '15 model a couple of thousand miles ago. It's a bit louder than I expected so if this is one of the quieter options, I'm glad I didn't try anything else. I have not bothered to try it with the silencer /db reducer removed. So far I like the sound a lot, it's got a nice growl on throttle overrun and no annoying popping at all. Hanging it with the included hanger bar ensures the exit does not fry the turn signal or reflector. No problems at all with that. At first I didn't like the lower angle when mounted but now I think it looks good. I was thinking of cutting back the OEM shield but I kinda like how it looks as is.
A note if you have the OEM side cases, the 18" models will tend to interfere with the left bag because the pipe will be longer than the recess in the bag that's meant to accommodate the OEM pipe. It's tricky to get the longer pipe not to touch the metal shielded part of the left bag. I you have aftermarket luggage, that's less close fitting than the OEMs, or no luggage, fitment should not be an issue for the 18".

Last weekend I mounted up my 'Akrapovic' carbon can. It's shorter than the Delkevic, even, and has the DB killer insert. Fired it up today and it sounds pretty good with the db killer in - probably too loud with it out.

Will it hold up? Not sure. it was a $40 Wish order lol.
Fit and Finish seems pretty decent though - not obviously different than a can costing $500.

I really want the yoshi. I think they sound great. But new tires are more important right now. BTW does anyone ever trim the heat back sheild or even take it off? If I'm going to put on a slip on I would really like to see it.

I've wondered that myself, but I think the only thing you're going to see is a filthy exhaust.

The new can:
It comes with springs to mount it, but I slotted the inlet pipe to get it to slip over the midpipe and used the other clamp.
