Ahhh shit, now the EPA's going get all pissed at BMW and make them install fire suppression equipment on all new bikes. I wonder if they'll have recall on existing models?RIVA said:Emission control failure.

Kinda reminds me of the poor inmate here that had their ST catch fire and destroyed because of the "hard Start" issue, sad really. But hey, shit happens.
Me, I'm not a bit concerned, my favorite Starbucks is next to a fire station and my whale foreskin riding suit is fire proof! ::025:: ::26::

Depends, I have been involved in three vehicle fires. First was a friends old scout, we were filling up and the gas blew back, ran down the side onto the exhaust, poof, extinguisher and she was out. Not before it scared the hell out of everyone )Checkswrecks said:Every now and then somebody asks me what kind of fire extinguisher to carry in their car.
Really?
If there's any kind of flame at all, it's time to hit the brakes and leave, as that's the instant that the car (or bike) belongs to the insurance company.
Nope, not a final drive failure, broken spoke/failed wheel, or CCT failure.... could be a hard start issue, nah probably not.OldRider said:BMW was quick to point out that the final drive did not fail.
Perhaps, if they believes "it must be true I saw it on the internet"! If They're a more objective thinker, they'll take a test ride then decide. Have ya seen Donk's review?mrpete64 said:This might answer the question asked on this site..."should I buy a BMW?"

Perhaps the heat shield on the nose cone failed upon reentry of this rocket. ::025:: ::26::

Like a Corvette? ;Dfjrmgm said:Seems like if you just let it burn up there would be less mess to clean up later.
