I am in the market for a screen adjuster. Slightly favoriting the wasps over Madstad for their look. Anyone knows if the wasp one can accommodate a GPS mount, a must for me.

If you looked at the Touratech? Love mine after well over 20,000 miles of heavy use.

That was originally my first choice, but read on multiple threads that the Touratech tend to loosen up, I guess it is not true for everyone. Have you had that problem?

I wanted something for two-up interstate travel. The "barn door" Parabellum review got my attention. Started off with the x-tall version and cut it down to 24.25 inches. At 6' 4", 36" inseam that works for me with the stock 2015 bracket one up from the lowest setting. Turns out the standard 25" Parabellum on the lowest setting would have been in the same position – who knew?

Pic from the "eye level" seated position.

Tenere Parabellum Windscreen:

Barn doors are great for interstate travel, but flat in the way off-road.
Got a fix: Drill a second set of mount holes 7" up on the faring. With that I can drop the fairing down over the head light and get it out of the way for gravel travel.

Pretty happy with the setup. Both on and off road.
Feel like I got to have my cake and eat it too.....

I may or may not have an older model, but I replaced the knobs and bolts on my Touratech with something you can actually grip and turn. It came with tiny knobs, impossible to get any kind of torque on them short of a pair of pliers. No problems since, dirt, high winds, truck blast.

Sorry, old post...

I fitted an MRA Vario Touring screen last month to my TT mount, in place of the stock screen (2011 model). I think TT may have redesigned the fixings on their mount at some point (I bought my TT mount mid 2012), because I 've never had a problem with it loosening up , and it's always easy to adjust.

This solved the buffeting problem for me ( 5'10", 29" inseam). ::015::

I'd never really noticed the buffeting problem until I had to do two 285 mile runs a few weeks ago which included a good few motorway miles. Prior to that, most of my riding had been on twisty country roads at speeds of max 60 mph.

When I first got my S10 ('14, base) I got a far amount of buffeting off the stock screen, a Parabellum Tall solved that (6'2", long torso). I still get more wind noise at freeway speed than I would like, then again I'm coming off an ST1300 which had a pocket of dead air so large with the screen fully up (electric, 'miss that) that I'm pretty sure I could have smoked a cigar back there w/o any problem. I tried the side deflectors which may have helped, a little, but I still get wind noise. Oddly, from moving my hand around it appears to be coming from the sides on the upper half of the screen. Then again, that may have something to do with my pumpkin-head, 3XL full-face Neotec being pretty damn wide too....

I may have to try some of the wider-at-the-top variants I guess. I doubt I'm going to get to ST levels but I'd like to see if I can get it a bit quieter back there & width seems to be the issue.

I'm curious rider33, with the new WS, where does the top of the WS hit you level straight back?
Until I got mine about level with nose or mouth, I got wind noise. Much better now. I'm 6'3".
I can listen to music at a decent level now. (earbuds)

I have it set just below eye level which for that screen and my torso is nearly fully down. I've tried it higher and the noise seems lower at the lower setting. It's not coming off the top tho, it's coming off the sides. Also, normally if you slide forward you would expect any wind noise issues to diminish but in this case oddly it doesn't seem to have much if any bearing. If I put my hand up tho at say and inch or so from the top and an inch or so out from the side it gets very quite. That screen indents to make way for the brush guards. I'm thinking the CeeBaily ones that expand out slightly at the top may be the answer. I too use ear buds while traveling. I'm back to the ER4's (with one channel out) vs the Westone's (forget the model) as the Etymotic's seal better.

Not sure how good this info is, but the wide options look to be the Givi and V-Stream.

Tuning Options

Another tuning options:

Put some spacers under the mount bracket to stand the fairing up. That will push more air off the side and less off the top.
Might be a fix, or just a pointless hack.

I have successfully used the Space Forward method since the second week of of my 2012. My 2015 windshield responded the same as the 2012 but the shape of the stock 2015 windshield allowed the air to roll off the sides. The Tall OEM windshield controls the air better. The new mounting bracket allows the Space Forward to stay in place when changing windshields.

I'm going to have to check into those. Thanks for posting the information by the way, the chart in particular is quite useful. The Vstream looks good but it appears they do not make a Gen Two version unfortunately....

I love my MRA Vario screen with a madstad adjuster on my '13. Put up the wing on the highway and drop it for more airflow when going slow off-road/around town.

Givi and V-Stream do not make screens for the 2014+ bikes.
From MIKE R: you can take off the stock 2014+ adjustable bracket - throw it away – and the older screens will bolt up to the bracket mount. But, you will need some spacers to clear the 2014 bodywork.

National Cycle V-stream bike shot and screen overlay.

The v-stream wide top looks good for highway travel, but I think that wide top is going to hit the bars if you tried to lower the screen for dirt use.

Dropping the screen is really nice on the dirt, or for riding "naked" on a hot slow day......
The bike feels smaller with the screen out of the way somehow.

Bolting the screen on in a high or low position gives a lot of flexibility for highway and dirt travel imo.
Plus the screen works as a headlight protector in dirt mode, LOL.
