I know that is a really old post, but they are available in the USA from Yamaha now (December 2018):

Numerous accessories for mounting as well.

Denali D4 2.0 with datadim is the shit. Literally no need for the OEM headlights with these bad boys installed. Low beam with the 50/50 spot/flood filters is equivalent to my trucks lights. Putting them on high turns night into freaking day. Used em on a saddlesore 1k mostly night riding with amazing success. Also used them to ride around Arkansas national forest looking for a place to setup camp at 10pm. Holy hell I shoulda bought these sooner.

I'm gonna buy a set of Baja Designs S2 wide cornering to put on the bars at a 45 degree angle to light the side of the woods when I ride forest at night.

How important is it for the lights to be DOT or SAE approved if you plan on using them as driving lights attached to the lower crash bars? I am finding lots of LED pod lights but very very few are DOT approved. Can I just put some Baja Design Squadron Sports flood lights out there and call it good?

In my opinion yes since it makes more obvious what your doing. I have double with the aux lights and maybe gotten 2 flashes from drivers in 3 months. They higher then normal to be street legal. But after having driver stop mid turn I am convinced they make me noticeable. My current set up X2 piaa 530 vehicle version with a denali bracket. 20200330_132153.jpg

Thanks, Last time I bought something from eastern beaver it took about 2 months and a several emails to finally get what I bought, it's a nice quality product thats still being used on my Goldwing but after that fiasco I'm pretty reluctant to do business there again.
I have had issues in the past with delivery time from EB but 2 weeks ago I ordered a horn kit and two horn cable and some shrink wrap on Friday and received it on Monday, delivered by DHL. I was pretty amazed at the speed for sure. Last year I ordered the 3 wire fuse block and connector that plugs into our spare power connector for a pair of Rigid D series lights I installed and it took a couple weeks to arrive so I'm guessing timing of the order is key.

From my experience, i had clearwaterlights Erica, on my GS and Darla K16,
The Kelvin is too high, is bright and powerful but not focus. The best i'd say Baja design the brightness and the color pattern that reflect the road is the best.
So you don't recommend the Ericas? They do an S10 kit and are on sale through this weekend.

Depends on what you like. I think you will not regret getting either Baja or Clearwater,.. is was better for Clearwater because is work with can bus, but S10 doesn’t have it.
Thanks. Clearwater made the decision easy by ending its sale before I could decide whether to pull the trigger. $770 shipped is still a lot of dosh for some driving lights that aren't essential where I ride, much less nearly $900. The $80 Gold Runway 30 watt driving lights that I have now do a pretty good job of lighting up the mountain roads on high beam along with my HID headlight conversion.

Well G runway does the job as well, but i never use it. For CW promotional price, email clear water sometime they give special price. This picture was clear water Erica on my R1200gsa. LOL

Gold Runways' quality control isn't great. A friend and I both bought sets and each of us had a problem with one of the lights sometimes not working. He finally upgraded to the latest Denalis and gave me his good light. So now I have a set that works. But they are cheap, light and bright so might be the answer for people who want those qualities, don't want to spend a fortune and don't mind gambling on the quality.

I'm finally getting serious about adding some auxiliary lights. Looking to at least add some driving lights to improve nighttime vision, but am also thinking about fog lights, too. I'm seeing lots of options for lights but limited info or perspective on mounting options. The Denali bracket is currently unavailable per their website. I'd consider mounting a set of lights on my Altrider crash bars, but that type of bracket appears expensive and I'm not too sure about the inherent need to have wires exposed to bridge to the fairing or wherever.

Anyone have perspectives on "the best" mounting options and possibly switch controls? I've got a spare slot on my EB 3 circuit relay block but a lot of light kits seem to come with relays, so it's probably not necessary. I figure I can select the lights based on the best bracket option, though maybe that's less of an issue than I think.

Thanks much,
Eville Rich

I recently bought a set of GIVI S322 LED fog lights (directly from GIVI) which I then installed on my ALTRider crash bars and I am very happy with them.
The GIVI S322 lights come standard with a very solid, mutli-adjustable mounting bracket system built right into the LED light housing.
The GIVI kit is complete with everything needed as well as a handle-bar mounted switch.
I used the OEM auxiliary electric connector that is located on all S10s on the right side behind the lower cover near the battery and the tool kit stash.
A place called Electrical Connections sells a custom connector that is tailor made for this:
Using this combo allows the lights to come on (with the handle-bar mounted switch in the "on" position) once the ignition is keyed to on and they then turn off when the ignition is keyed off. The wiring job in these pics are not final. The wires were easily hidden by running them behind the ALTRiders and securing them with zip ties.

As you can see the lights are on the inside of the crash bars so they are decently protected for when this big girl
falls on her side(s).
That looks good. I think it want to go with higher lumens. These appear to be 1250 lumens each. I'd like to get a combination that gets 8,000 to 10,000 lumens between two lamps.

I found these lights by accident on Amazon. I got them at $12 for the kit, they're now $20.00 for the kit. Claims to be water proof (IP67). But the only negative review was condensation in the lens. I just put them on my Jeep as test mule, but they are small enough for a bike. They're replacing some Warn lights that I THOUGHT were good, but the Warn's output isn't even in the same league.
They're listed as Ambother 4" led.View attachment 58659
Just fitted mine

Mine have worked fine on the Jeep. No condensation. Light output is super bright, and white. The previous Warns had that yellowish tint to them. The Warn system was remote control. All I had to do was splice these into where the Warns were.
