I know that is a really old post, but they are available in the USA from Yamaha now (December 2018):

https://www.shopyamaha.com/product/details/piaa-lp-530-led-light-kits?b=Adventure+Touring+Accessories&d=44|44&ls=yamaha-motor-company&dealernumber=

Numerous accessories for mounting as well.

Hummm....I remember now....they are not a USA stocked item, but can be ordered from several Yamaha dealers overseas (or possibly Canada).

The part # is 23P-854A3-00-00 Several members of this forum have them. See here: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=1651.0
Installation instructions are listed on link from forum member 'Bundu' on the first page of the link.

Looks like http://www.yamabits.co.uk/ is one vendor selling & shipping them over here.

IMHO, Baja Designs is the very best and reliable lighting that's out there for these bikes. I have been a customer for years and they have always set the gold standard for lights. I currently have a singe 2012 1st generation Squadron cube that still lights up the road like a border crossing. Not cheap though.

Surprisingly you can get the same kit from Walmart on line for $267.

How do these PIAA lights compare to the ADVMONSTER lights also mentioned in this thread?
I believe the ADV lights are 3000 lumens each. That's setting the bar pretty high.
Not bad for the price. The Baja Designs Squadrons put out close to 10,000 lumens per pair (4900 each). One is a flood and the other is a spot. Lots of choices. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them.

I temporarily mounted a set of Hella 500FF's on my Puig engine bars when I did my SS1000 last Summer. I usually run a set of Grote Trilliant T26's in the same location. They are "ok". The Hellas are great, but too darned big. Apart from the power draw, there is not much wrong with a good set of halogen lights. Quality vs quantity.

What are some LED light bars that work with the Skene dimmer?

It looks like Baja Designs stopped making any light bars shorter than 10" and the SR series from Rigid is apparently not compatible. What else is out there?

Hi there Fennellg, that's a nice setup you have. And great advice on making sure connections and switches match the quality of the light. I reall want to get 2 cubes and some kind of light bar to mount like yours but on my upper Alt Rider crash bar. I'm concerned that the front fender is going to it it at full compression. Looks like you have it mounted in a perfect spot with just enough clearance.

It has to be as high as possible. I broke my front fender at full compression with a light mounted under the headlight. My light was larger, and due to limitations with my crash bar hoop, ended up a little lower than Fennellg's. Use caution.

@Mikecmp - No info on the HF LED lights. Typically you get a more diffused light from the cheaper LED lights. Cheaper reflector design and less vibration resistance. If the price point works for you, give it a try and report back after some use.

I'm working on fabricating some kind of simple bracket that will put a light bar even and just in front of the ALT Rider hoop.

Well, there was a coupon for those harbor freight lights so I grabbed two of them, at $20 each. They looks very similar to my rigid lights, and in fact plugged into the same pigtail plugs. They claim that the lights have Cree LEDs in them.

I bought the flood version. Tried them in my benchtop power supply, they seemed bright. My rigid were spot lights, and the one has something wrong where it will flicker on occasion, it was enough to worry me that I might be mistaken for having a turn signal on.

They seem high quality to me, time will tell. I think for twenty bucks each worth it to try, especially since the plugs required no rewiring

Anybody running any Clearwater lights? Have a friend that has Ericas and Darlas on his BMW 1200 GS, and they are astoundingly bright, even in daylight. He runs the yellow filters on them and is contantly having folks come up and look at them whenever he stops for gas or to eat.

I found these lights by accident on Amazon. I got them at $12 for the kit, they're now $20.00 for the kit. Claims to be water proof (IP67). But the only negative review was condensation in the lens. I just put them on my Jeep as test mule, but they are small enough for a bike. They're replacing some Warn lights that I THOUGHT were good, but the Warn's output isn't even in the same league.
They're listed as Ambother 4" led.ambother lights.jpg

I have a pair of Rigid D2 flood lights but with them on I don't why I would need spot lights to see further down the road. I run the yellow lens covers for conspicuity during the daytime but I need to take some time to aim them a little better. The ditches out to 80' or so are lit up like daytime and with my LED headlights I have more than enough lighting inasmuch I have been doing more night riding than I ever have. I'm not sure about the legality of my lights though so I'm very quick to turn them off during the night time when opposing traffic is present.

I bought a few HF LEDs a month ago and the results so far are great. I’ve currently have have some ADV Monster lights, some no name Amazons and some Auxbeam lights running on my other bikes and these are the least expensive but throw off some amazing light for the price. I’ve mounted two spots( tied to the high beams ) and two floods ( wired to an independent switch ). After about 1000 miles and 400 of those dirt two track , some of which was ugly wheel hop stutter bumps, they’re still holding a focus and working well. I rode side by side with another Tenere with Denali’s and I was throwing more light down the road when we crossed the valley in the darkness at 2am.

It’s a combo of two ( three ) light mounts. It’s a Denali mount from Revzilla and the “stock” Piaa mounts bolted to the Denali brackets. It was all bolt on, no drilling required.
