So you didn’t receive 2 separate switches from Denali like I did ?
What was your reason for installing a switch if no switch is needed ?
I would love to be able to control the Denali lights with just the factory Yamaha high-low beam switch, hopefully I will eventually get it figured out, the very limited instructions that came with my lights sure ain’t much help.
Did you get your lights working properly?

no, so far I haven’t attempted to change anything because I haven’t been riding the Tenere and I really don’t understand wiring very well . I paid a mechanic to hookup the Denali lights and so far I’m pretty disappointed in the results.
I would love to be able to control them like yours with the factory Yamaha high low switch .

#1 - I'm not big on Posi-Taps. Crimped connectors work just fine and if the water proof ones are not available, I fill each end with silicone sealer.

#2 - Still like the Rigid light tucked under the nose. Never out-run the beam at night nor worried about hurting it if the bike goes on it's side.
Just remember that the front fender has a 7.5" travel and can crush bigger lights or be broken by them.
What model of Rigid light do you use & what size ?

those are very likely the lights I will be choosing but will probably buy the amber version for $45 more because the color Makes them really extra noticeable to other drivers. Tenere needs to go in for a valve check so I’m going to talk to the mechanic about maybe installing the lights for me.
I have a pair of the amber lenses as well. I use them if i know I'm not going to be out late. Only takes a minute to swap them.
Well I ordered the Amber Denali D4 kit today, total cost $644.95 and I earned a $32.45 credit to use on next order, everything comes with a 5 year free replacement warranty. Plan is to mount the lights on T-Rex racing crash-bars. Most of The stuff is on back order and is supposed to ship about October 7th. That’s a lot of money to hopefully solve a lighting issue that Yamaha should have taken care of years ago.
I have always heard that since LEDs are color-specific, putting yellow lenses over white LEDs doesn't work very well. Granted that these Denalis sound like they're very bright, so you'll still have a fair amount of illumination even with the yellow lenses, but wouldn't it be better, if you want yellow lights, to get lights with yellow LEDs to begin with?

And having said that, who makes proper yellow-LED lighting units?

None that i am aware of. Conspicuity is the only reason i use them.

I selected Denali D3 fog lights with amber lenses for daytime "visibility". They have a very bright wide pattern, high/low switched intensity, and the amber "caution/warning" color.

Anyone use the Puig Beam 2 lights that would care to comment/recommend/scare away about them? I found them in the UK at what looks like a decent price.
Thanks in advance!

I also use the PDM60, great system, easy install and love the fact you can program on/off time on individual devices.
I have all my accessories power up after a 20sec. delay to allow full battery power to the starter and the circuit to my GPS stays powered up for 10min after the key is turned off. So this way I can search a route on my GPS without having the motor idling.
Great system, I highly recommend it.

Someone school me here. Can I hook up something like this (below), operated off of stock (high beam) handlebar switchblock?

That’s how I have my driving lamps connected. Use a relay and a new line from the battery or a power distribution module. Use the high beam wire to trigger the relay only. Don’t try to pull all the current for those lights from the high beam circuit. That circuit only supplies only a small amount of current sufficient to flip the H/L shutter and does not power the bulbs.

I too, have Denali D4s and I installed then exactly like Ric H did. The switch that came with the lights is to turn the lamps completely off. One wire was tapped to a 12v source that's on only when the ignition is on so the relay powers the lamps, and the other is tapped to the bike high beams. My D4s are on low all the time except when I hit the high beam switch and the D4s gets full power. I rarely turn the leds off. And I purchased the Denaili mounting bracket. I like that they're protected in case of a fall.

Thanks WJB. I think it's illegal here to have aux driving lights hooked up to high beam (as opposed to DRL's that come on with ignition) so i'll need to rig something up thats easy to remove at warrant of fitness time

I’m not sure what the legality is here in California, but one must of course be responsible and courteous when armed with so many blinding lumens! Doing so seems to prevent any LEO attention.

I do know that it’s illegal here to run fog lights with the high beams at the same time, so cars equipped with fogs from the factory will automatically turn them off when the high beams are switch on.

I’m not sure if the same applies to driving lights though. It would not make much sense if it does.
