Assuming you don't have a Powercommander sitting there, it will fit to the right of the battery. A little double sided tape (or the velcro that comes in the kit) and you're in business.
I don't yet, but am reserving that space for a possible PowerCommander/Autotune setup.merchant said:Assuming you don't have a Powercommander sitting there, it will fit to the right of the battery. A little double sided tape (or the velcro that comes in the kit) and you're in business.
I have it all down there in that pocket.. Fits great !stevepsd said:I don't yet, but am reserving that space for a possible PowerCommander/Autotune setup.
Sounds like a faulty dimmer module..........Houndman said:Got on bike today for first time in a few days. I like to run the lights about 1/3 to 1/2 power when normal operation. I noticed that while the lights operate in full blast when I turn on bright switch, I am not able to turn on the lights when in regular light mode. I took a voltmeter and have power all the way to where the pos/neg enters the dimmer switch but notha coming out even turning the switch on/off from the key fob. I have about 14 volts when I turn on the bright switch from the wires coming out to light. I do notice a small red olight on the key fob activating when I hit on/off switch or the dimmer up/down function. I assume that if red light is coming on the key fob that it also has the juice to send signal to dimmer switch to operate. So it is one or the other I think, the dimmer switch or the key fob. Anyone with an issue like this?
I didn't want the headlights to be quite as blue as the Baja for better viz in the fog, I went with the PIAA vibration resistant bulbs made specifically for motorcycle use. I used the 4300k, but you can choose a higher temp. The Baja are 5000k.ov1 said:Has anyone matched the colour of the stock headlights to match the colour of the Baja lights? Just curious what bulbs you used.
OOPS! The Bajas are 5000k according to Tabasco's original post. My mistake.ov1 said:Thx for the info,
Since the Squadron lights are 5000k color temperature, you would need bulbs that replicate that. So you could run 5000k HID's or...... find a H7 bulb that is close.ov1 said:Has anyone matched the colour of the stock headlights to match the colour of the Baja lights? Are there any pictures or a video floating around here of a dark deserted dirt road with the lights first off, then on? I haven't looked too hard, so excuse me if somebody already posted something.stevepsd said:I just completed my SaddleSore 1000, leaving at night to avoid the traffic so I put these lights to the test. They are INCREDIBLE in their range, intensity and beam pattern. When using them with my low beams, I have them set to around 40% via the dimmer. It fills the low beam pattern nicely and I wold say almost double the range of the stock lights, all without blinding on-coming traffic.
When on flip them on to full intensity, the night is not melted away but is blasted into OBLIVION! This is not an exaggeration, as I am not the type to hype up whatever is new - engineer/analyst background you know. These lights are really that good. Since I had them on for a good 12 hours straight (except for gas stops) I can confirm that my mounting of them within a few mm of the plastic headlight surround using the OEM fog light mounting location (see here: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=4651.0 ) causes no issues with the headlight surround melting, plus it gives a great beam pattern (with a slight tweak of the light mounts).
If you ride at night, you really should try them, because you will be impressed.
Ill be posting some up soonVenture said:Are there any pictures or a video floating around here of a dark deserted dirt road with the lights first off, then on? I haven't looked too hard, so excuse me if somebody already posted something.
I tried taking some with my point & shoot camera and it just did not work out very well as the pics tended to be washed out probably due to the color temp of the LED's. I need to break out my Nikon D200 (or my D800 when I get get), set the correct color temperature and get some really represented pics in a nice, straight, wide open (not tree lined - which makes the light seem better) area when I get back to my desert home in a few weeks.Venture said:Are there any pictures or a video floating around here of a dark deserted dirt road with the lights first off, then on? Personally, I think the difference is astounding. If you focus on the details like the road sign on the left, and the sheer distance that is illuminated you can perceive just how much of a difference they make. Thanks for posting!Ridetherock said:i took this side by side, but it just does not do the lights justice. in person they are just awesome.
I agree, the pics do not come close to showing how much the Squadron lights illuminate the road.Ridetherock said:i took this side by side, but it just does not do the lights justice. in person they are just awesome.
