Hey guys - the first batch of toolboxes ships out from Spain on Monday! FedEx International has historically been pretty quick, so I expect I will see them somewhere between the 4th and the 9th, depending on if there are any holiday-related delays. As soon as they arrive, I'll get them packaged and sent to those that have pre-ordered.

I did get word from DS Bike that this first shipment is designed to work optimally with OEM pannier systems. They should also work on Touratech systems, as they allow the toolbox to be mounted at a similar position. They *may* work on Hepco-Becker and Happy-Trail systems, but DSBP needs to get some additional measurements to validate...or you are welcome to try, and if it won't fit, no problem to return it. They probably won't work on Jesse and Holan systems due to how closely those pannier mounts tuck in to the bike, but if someone can provide some measurements and/or photos, I'd love to see if they can make it work.

The SW Motech/Trax system shown on the test bike photos has a crossbrace that requires the toolbox to be mounted at the lower range of adjustment. During additional testing, they literally jumped the test bike at high speed with the suspension set on soft to see if they could get it to touch. Good news is that the S10 flies just fine; not so great news is that the the rear caliper lightly kissed the bottom of the toolbox on landing. On street-ridden S10s that aren't trying to play motocrosser this wouldn't be an issue, but they don't want to send a product out the door with any limitations. DSBP has built a new "high clearance" prototype for Trax systems and is retesting now, with anticipated availability in early January.

If you're placing an order for the toolbox, please enter what type of pannier system you have into the order comments so we can be sure to get you the right application for your bike!

Thanks again - any questions, please let me know...

Sounds very interesting and it's good to see that the design is being reviewed and adjusted as needed. I'd be interested in learning if the Givi mounts are conducive to the installation. Thanks.

Just took a quick look at the H-T website and it looks like it should mount up fine. I've also sent the link and install instructions to DS Bike to make sure, but if you can snap some pics of your rack setup (top, back, side, etc.), that would be great.

Thanks!

Jason
Oki doki, will do.
I have this pic of the bike with just racks. It does look like it will fit, there is plenty of room there, and mounts would lay over the HT rack mounts. When do you expect to get them in?

Thanks 528Hz....the first order of 10 shipped out from Spain today, and I expect they will arrive as soon as the end of the week, or early next if the holidays delay transit by a day or two. Once they're in, I'll update the thread and post whatever inventory remains of the first order as "In Stock" on the webstore. Right now, I believe 5-6 of the 10 en route are pre-sold!

Thanks again....

So if I ordered one for the stock Yamaha side cases now it would still be one of the first batch, and be shipped in the next week, 10 days, or so?

Thanks!

Correct! Tentative delivery date to the shop in New York looks like January 10th, but I've seen shipments arrive in as little 3 business days so there's a chance they'll show up this week. Once they're here, I can usually get orders turned around in 24-48 hours...the toolboxes come pre-packaged, so they're easy to ship quickly. I ship either Priority Mail or Parcel Post (whatever option you select on the webstore at checkout) and email you a tracking number when it goes out the door.

Any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

I'm very interested in this! Creates an opportunity to get my tool kit off my back when off road, etc.

I'm really trying to grasp the fitment with my Touratech Zega Pros though........

By comparing your photos with mine it appears as though there is minimal, at best, clearance at the rear. Following a line down from the attachment point at the rear along with looking at the cross bar of the Touratechs.

Could you, Jason, and others give some input. If it's tight but functional I can jump in but am looking for a bit of third party input to help out with thoughts, etc.

Thank you, Jason.

Just placed my order ( #129) using your online ordering and PayPal. Will be looking forward to mounting the new toolbox up and trying it out soon! ::008::

Take care!

Hi Firefight911 - thanks for the pics! The first batch of toolboxes is en route from Spain, so I dont have a lot of install feedback just yet. Its primarily designed to carry things you won't need to access on a daily basis....tire patch kit, compressor, tire irons, tools, etc. Aftermarket turn signals can help make it a bit more accessible, and there's some adjustment built into the brackets to get the best fit. The door removes fully from the toolbox when unlocked for access to the contents.

There's a video review of the toolbox for the BMW R1200GSA on my website at http://www.advmotorrad.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_60_61&product_id=61 which may help give a better sense of it.

Thanks!

Maybe the inaugural first 10 orders should be personally engraved with the respective forum names???

Just a thought ...

:D

Yes, it's New Years Eve and I have had some wine.

Happy New Year!

Why yes...yes you did. ;D

The first 10 toolboxes for OEM/Touratech panniers arrived a few hours ago and I am printing shipping labels like a wild man! My goal is to get all pre-orders in tomorrow's mail. If you've already got a toolbox ordered, keep an eye out for a tracking number in the next few hours. :)

Thanks!

And, just like that....I'm out of stock again. ???

All toolbox orders for OEM/Touratech pannier systems were filled with the initial stock, so please let me know if you have not received a USPS tracking number. All SW-Motech/Trax orders are still waiting for stock, which hopefully will be arriving very soon. Additionally, I have another 20 toolboxes for OEM/Touratech panniers on their way - 10 of which departed Spain today, so I could have them as soon as Friday or Monday.

Thanks again guys!
