ADV Motorrad is the North America distributor for DS Bike Protection products, a motorcycle hard parts manufacturer based out of Agulada, Spain (near Barcelona) primarily specializing in products for the BMW GS-series. We are very pleased to announce they are now starting to build parts for the Yamaha Super Tenere! While there are other products in development, their first product for the XT1200Z is a version of the highly popular raid toolbox. Designed to fit with your OEM Yamaha panniers, the DSBP toolbox adds approximately 3L of lockable, waterproof storage space easily accessible from the rear of the bike. The box is made of 2mm aluminum for durability and installs in minutes using mounts designed to work with the Super Tenere OEM mounts.

The toolbox is currently in production now, with inventory availability in mid-December. Any questions, please contact me at sales AT advmotorrad DOT com or PM me here. Thanks!

Some new shots of the Super Tenere toolbox....the first order of 10 should be arriving late this week! The last two photos show it tucks in nicely behind a set of SW Motech pannier frames.

Also, DS Bike was able to reduce production costs a bit which has allowed us to bring the price down from $169.99 to $149.99. If you had a pre-order, I've already made a price adjustment and refunded the difference...a few more bucks back in your pocket before the holidays. :D

Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Jason

I was excited about these when I saw one on ebay and posted a few weeks back. The big concern from the community seemed to be it hitting the brake caliper. Have you tested one? With the wheel at full travel is there clearance?

It looks great, and it's a terrific idea...

But a couple of quick questions:

1.) The one in the first two photographs (which appear to be the same ones off the Spanish company's web site), which looks to be used with the Yamaha accessory side cases, appears to be mounted quite a bit differently than the one in the later four pictures. How come there is such a difference?

2.) How does the "door" hinge, or attach, to the main part of the box?

3.) How does the little "door" seal, and how waterproof is the tool box?

4.) Do you have any pictures showing the inside, the door, its hinge or attachment, and the locks?

Thanks!

Dallara

Hey guys - thanks very much for your interest!

Tommy, no worries on interference. DSBP tested the install in its final configuration with the suspension on full soft and two 200 lb adults aboard, and couldn't get it to touch. My guess is that if you can somehow get the caliper to hit the toolbox, you probably have bigger problems....like sticking the landing from the Snake River Canyon jump you just completed. ::025::

Dallara, the original photos were mock-ups during the prototyping stage and don't reflect the final installation hardware. The newest photos show the final hardware and how the case mounts up to the passenger grab handle mounts. I'm hoping I can get some additional pictures from DSBP (and/or customers) to show how much clearance there is with stock and aftermarket pannier systems.

The door is fully removable, as a hinged door would be a bit tricky with the OEM turn signal in the standard position. There's a small lip at the bottom edge of the door that slips into the door opening of the toolbox, then the key lock pulls it in when the door is closed. There is a foam gasket around the perimeter of the door where it meets the toolbox to keep everything waterproof. It's probably not submersible, but for normal riding in the rain, everything inside will stay dry!

I don't have the Super Tenere toolbox in hand yet but do have some for the BMW R1200GS and it's basically the same (the Super Tenere is just a bit smaller to give it the necessary clearance). I'll try to take a few pics and post them up so folks can see the inside and how the lock/door works.

Thanks!

Jason

Looks like they are height adjustable?

Is there a discount code or is that period over?

Can we still order if they are not in stock?

I have Hepco Becker racks with Pelican panniers. Would this set up work with the tool box?
Not sure if DSBP has tested with the H-B racks, but it should fit up...and if it doesn't, no problem on returns. I'll see if I can get some measurement points this week and validate how far the box sticks out from under the subframe, but it was designed to be pannier-system independent (unlike the R1200GSA box, which relies on the OEM Adventure rack).

Thanks!

Hey Jonny - I think the discount code you're thinking of was only for the Powerlet sale. For the toolboxes, I worked with Sisco at DSBP to bring the price down a bit from $169.99 to $149.99, so hopefully that helps!

They do have some height adjustment built into the brackets to facilitate different pannier rack setups. The goal for this toolbox was not only to work with OEM, but also be compatible with popular aftermarket setups.

My webstore will accept pre-orders for the toolbox, and I'll fulfill in the order received once inventory arrives. Currently, I have 10 boxes on order with 2 already pre-sold.

I also just got a bunch more pictures from DSBP and will upload those (hopefully) later this evening.

Thanks!

I like it. It tucks nice and neat behind the OEM bags. When Santa brings my $$$$ for Christmas... Daddy is going to order one.

Just took a quick look at the H-T website and it looks like it should mount up fine. I've also sent the link and install instructions to DS Bike to make sure, but if you can snap some pics of your rack setup (top, back, side, etc.), that would be great.

Thanks!
