Its the cat... the install is not that hard.. Anyone that installs this type package will need to back out the air screws 3/4 of a turn, and need to sync both throttle bodies. Other than that the install is pretty smooth if you have all the tools..... Im also around all the time if customers has any type of questions...
Thanks for the response T. The throttle body sync. is likely beyond me and/or my patience. I found the Akrapovic install very simple. On a scale of 1 to 10 it was a three with a one being installing the grip puppies (as easy as it gets). Using this as a reference:

On a scale of 1 to 10 what would the arrow headers be?

On a scale of 1 to 10 what would the PCV with autotune be?

Would the use of a PCV-AT not negate the need to sync the throttle bodies and adjust the airscrew???

*Using your scale*... I would say the headers are a (3)....... The PCV is a (4-5)..... With a sync the throttle bodies are a (2-3).....
No the Air Screw has to be backed out on the US bikes.. They are all the way closed. I would "run" with them closed, but all the maps we have populated would be useless because this bike is fuel sensitive and the guys that are sharing maps all have them turned out 3/4 out.... You HAVE to sync them... right is master, left is slave...

Another positive testimonial for the Arrow headers, Leo Vince slip-on, PCV and AT.

It does smooth out the quitenoticeably. The comment of it being about as smooth as a 'Wing isnt far off. I have a Wing for comparison. You still feel the V-twin throbs, but the bike is really quite smooth after the complete package install. The "gravely" feel/vibration I had between 3500 and 4000 rpms is gone. I cannot comment on anything other than the complete package...I did it all at one time. If you ride a bike which the complete package is on, I would say you would be hooked....it is that different. I am more than pleased with the results...and I'm picky!

The header and pipe install is very easy. Just make sure to check your clearances with the rear tire and muffler before romping off into the sunset. ThE PCV and AT install is straight forward. The PCV and AT install is only "troublesome" (the hardest part) when you need to find, obtain and DISCONNECT the stock oxygen sensor connectors packaged in the little condom wrapping Yamaha puts them in above the battery. The PCV Optomizers have to be connected into the stock oygen sensor connectors and in my opinion, this was the hardest part. The rest of the PCV install is quite simple. There is nothing "complex" about it....read the direction, go one step at a time and just take your time and do it.

When you go to secure the 6 "loose" wires for the AT, there is a sealed membrane (for weather proofing) in the AT unit which has to be punctured when you insert the wires. You will have to push the already prepped soldered wires into the AT with more force than you would think, but once they are seated you will know they are seated. They are simply then secured with set screws.

For those that have installed the PCV, where are you locating it?
There is a nice spot next to the battery on the lower right corner. I then velcroed the Optimzer on top of that. I placed the auto tune next to all of that.
If you look at Tabasco's pics of his install, it is like that.

And DON'T FORGET to insert the CAN Bus terminator plug! Otherwise AT will not work. :lamp:
