I would be interested in buying these brackets if you make them again.

thanks
To the guys that bought them: I was thinking about a few changes for another run.

1. Use rubber crush nuts to mount braces similar to those supplied with the winglets.
2. Mounting holes in braces would change to 7/32" Dia
3. Make brace slightly thinner 0.1019 instead of 0.125. This will help ensure the windscreen stays put.
4. Powdercoat satin black
5. PayPal

I'll send out request for quote tomorrow.

Any thoughts?

I have the Winglet's on my bike with the rubber crouch nuts and think it would still work perfectly. I don't have a bad vibration it just bounces on bumps. I have puig windshield and my GPS mounted to the cross bar and it does bounce a bit like I said. I'd be interested in seeing how they work.

Mine have worked well. #4 Definately Yes, painting is a pain and results can be mixed. #3 would probably allow the slight bend needed to better align with the bracket and still provide enough stiffness. I'm not sure the tabs engage the holes with the old thickness, but the friction is adequate when tight. Other changes would be OK but minor IMHO. I do have a larger cell phone RAM mounted on the accessory bar and shaking is minimized with the brace.

P.S. I did use some hex cap screws with washers to mount, same hex size as the side panels, for convenience.

I would say all are absolutely great ideas except for #1. Those rubber crush nuts are not strong enough for the brace and all the weight, flex and force they take. I used M10 hardware with thick rubber washers on both sides to mount the braces and it works great. The mounting holes are not stressed because of the thick rubber washers and I only bolted everything up snug. Blue Loctite holds the fasteners in place because they are only snug, maybe 8 ft/lbs or so. Honestly, number 3 is thing I wasn't really happy about function wise with the mounts. #4 is extremely important too but I ceracoated mine flat black and it came out great. Not everyone is interested in finishing the mounts themselves and paint isn't durable enough. If you can keep the price low and include the power coat finish, you will have an amazing product (a big problem solver) at a great value.

I'd be in for a set for sure if you're going to do another run.

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure this will also reduce turbulence since the windshield will be mowing less.
Nope! It's a windshield not a sail, not as if it 'flops' about. they do work, very well, but I do believe he stopped making them a while back and said he would not make another run..
Make you own, slightly less glamorous but easily done with two flat aluminium bar 20mm x2 mm?

Sorry for the delay. It will be a few weeks. My wife and I are touring the SW US for another week. I should have a price when back to work. I suspect it will be $25 or $30 for a set of brackets shipped max.

Back to work today, bracket quote in. Basically same as last time + powder coating.

I'll get them ordered tomorrow. (Spent all day catching up on e-mails and working ;) )

I've reconsidered the crush nuts, going to make the mounting holes 5/16" for 1/4" button head hardware.

They will be powder coated flat black, grommets, hardware and shipping (in the lower 48) will be included. I'll give Paypal a try this time as well.

Cost will be $25/set

I'll post here and the vendor forum (and try to catch up with everyone that said they wanted a set) as soon as them come in. The quote was 2 weeks.
