I love my blue 2014, but that yellow looks really nice. I wish they wouldn't keep putting colors I don't like on the ES versions. That dark gray kept me from getting the 2014 ES, and now the new ES is in black. I'd own a puke brown bike before I'd own another black bike or car.
Fortunatly you are not the nay person they have to please. :mad:. I love the charcoal gray, it has always been my preference, the yellow hopefully looks better in person.

Uh Oh....... I like the yellow, but........ How do you put your techspech tank pads on that?
Seems like it might look odd to partially cover the stripe with the pads.....

Yellow is a cool retro look but I think it would get old looking at it after a while. Because I wanted the ES in 14 I had to take matt grey. Did not excite me at first but have come to really like the color. Low maintenance too, put a hose to it, no waxing required.

Does anyone remember a guy was talking about dipping panels to get the carbon fibre look in a thread about a year ago? I think it was a decal process similar to wrapping? I think he was in WI. Trying to find the link but cant turn it up anywhere. Seems my search skills are desperately lacking!

I don't understand why a FJ09 is $10.5K and a S10 is $15.5K when they have basically the same setup?
S10 has shaft drive but that's about it.
Haven't ridden a FJ09 but I'd bet that engine performs better.

I test rode the FJ09 and the engine is more "revvy" but I wouldn't call it better. The S10 has better suspension and feels more solid to me...much better suited to 2 up riding.

Thought I read somewhere that they were assembling or partially assembling the FJ-09 & and FZ-09 off-shore from Japan (Singapore, Thailand?), but I might be confusing that with another model or manufacturer. The Super - T is probably still built in Japan.

You'd think with it being a special edition, it would be on the more expensive model.

I think the way the speedblocks are arranged on the tank of the blue '14 is better looking than the way they did it on the new yellow. IMHO, which is right, of course...
I agree ::008::

Has anyone gleaned anything from the information that's 'in the wild now' as far as any changes or updates in 2016 besides the obvious (paint)? As there's really not anything wrong with the '14-15 except high-ish high-speed damping on the forks, it's hard to feature anything to drive a change, but there may be something in there for the careful reader three decimal places over, or someone especially good at photo reconnaissance...

Haven't seen the 16 in person yet, but if the tank decal on the sides are like the 15, they are under the clearcoat.
??? They're not putting the warning stickers under the clearcoat too, are they?

The warning sticker on my 2014 tank was on top of the clear coat but a real bitch to get off. It flaked off in itty-bitty little pieces, not one big decal.

Maybe they are trying to increase the sales of the Standard model.

Comparing the two engines is like comparing a diesel to a Miata. Neither is better, they are intended for different purposes. One is revvier, the other has more grunt. As far as the price difference if you sit on both, side by side, you will realize the S10 is a lot more bike. I am not knocking the FJ-09,its a great bike, just a different bike than the S10.
