    New guy from Edinburgh UK

Well, it took me a while but here are some pictures of the new steed. Taken today on my first (reasonably tame) off-road trip which completed the running in period. The gentle off-road is a warm up to doing Col de Finestre and the Col du Parpaillon later in the year. Bike has Altrider bars, ACD...

Bumot panniers - need a bit of help fitting

Thanks for that. I've had them on the bike and fitted up so they sit neatly. I'm thinking 45mm front and 55mm back so far. I'll get them made and post the results. Chris

Bumot panniers - need a bit of help fitting

Hi all Just had my Bumot panniers delivered today. Initial impressions are very good, top case fitted no problem. Panniers are a bit more difficult. I have a 2015 UK non-ES bike and one of the things the bike doesn't come with as standard is pillion grab handles like the ones in this picture...

    2014 / 2015 Heated grips query

Ok here is what I know. Yamaha grips have a resistance of 1.5ohms. Oxford adventure are 7.0ohms. The installed wiring on the 2014/2015 with Oxford grips fitted gives a max measured output of 3.8v depending on grip setting (dealer did this for me). So in terms of electrical power, standard...

    2014 / 2015 Heated grips query

Could anyone tell me how the grips work? Does the bike deliver a constant voltage to the grips of 0 - 12 volts depending on how hot you want them? Reason for asking, thinking of fitting Oxford grips to run off the on board computer. The Oxford grips and controller sends 12v to the grips and...

    Panniers help required

Jason, thanks for the tip. Sent Holan an email. Had a look at the website and looks promising. I was also recommended this http://www.stahlkoffer.com/ The kit looks good (my friend loves his top box) but I've not yet figured if it will suit my existing equipment. Thanks, Chris

    Panniers help required

Thanks for that guys. Currently considering TT racks and existing Zega panniers with Givi Outback top box. I recon my TT boxes 37/45l will be about the same width as two 38l Givi panniers (~970mm). Anyone know if Givi locks will fit TT Zega cases? Thanks, Chris

    Panniers help required

Hi Folks From my intro post, I'm planning on having my S10 arriving at the beginning of March. I was going to buy a pannier frame, and top box + frame from Touratech, then use my existing 2006 Touratech Zega panniers. Unfortunately Touratech UK want 50% more for the equipment than advertised...

    What to buy? Decisions decisions...

Thanks for the replies. Only the ZE (elec suspension) comes with centrestand, on the 1200Z its an optional extra, as are heated grips. Ardcases do look good but I'll see if my existing Touratech Zega boxes will fit first. Maybe an Ardcase top box.. I found this relating to aftermarket grips...

Hi all As mentioned in my intro thread I’m looking at getting a new XT1200Z at the beginning of March. I’m planning on doing some immediate accessorising (after all there is no point waiting…). Any opinions on the following would be appreciated. Panniers: Originally I was thinking SW Motec as...
