Electrical / Cigarette Outlet and Fuse

Thanks for the response! I am sorry to be so dense but what do you mean with “provided the Garmin harness is fused”? CH

Electrical / Cigarette Outlet and Fuse

Re: Accessory Outlet on ST So, before I do something stupid.....can I wire the GPS directly to the battery (with the wires that come with the Garmin)? I have a free terminal for the battery tender which I could use or I could just attach it directly to the battery terminals. Any suggestions...

Electrical / Cigarette Outlet and Fuse

Hello! I am sure this has been asked before....can I use the cig-lighter as the power source for a Garmin Zumo 395 or do I need to wire it into the battery? Thank you for your advice! Chris

Why is the S10 not included in comparison reviews?

Indeed it does but it completely missed the point of the S10. I like Rider Magazine and have subscribed for years but that review was a bunch of crap! 1.) the suspension is not good enough for the road??? 2.) the engine runs a bit "rough"?? 3.) the seat has a contour that causes discomfort...

Yes, you should try going east from Clarksburg to Winchester - that's where the going gets good! Chris

    WV RT. 50

Hi All, It's been quite a while since I posted on the forum but I felt compelled to rave about my ride today from Baltmore to Clarksburg, WV. After some slab I spent most of the day on Route 50, off I 81. What an amazing road! Great twisties, switchbacks and awesome scenery! As good as any road...

    Yikes!

Well, that brings up another matter which is that I had to tighten up almost every single bolt on the bike. I think these guys were in a hurry to get the bike out the door that day..... >:(

    Yikes!

I just had my S 10 in for service and the mechanic told me that the wires (for external hook up) leading to the battery tender were not hooked up. Obviously, that could have lead to a short with rather dire consequences once I would have connected those wires to a trickle charger for winter...

Recent purchase -- no OEM bag mounts? Seriously?

Very handsome bike!! qui mysterious ote author=camardelle link=topic=17535.msg262883#msg262883 date=1444783176] Finally all done. As of today, only the side bag liners are backordered. I like the bags fine enough but the top case is small. I'll have to figure out a way to secure my Nolan...

    Oil change?

Hello again, Just to clarify - I did do my last oil change at 3600 miles...by the book.... ; Chris quote author=Brick link=topic=17710.msg263510#msg263510 date=1445267162] IMHO... one of the main jobs of oil is to carry all the bad stuff away and suspend it until it can be drained. I say get...

    Oil change?

Hello, Hoping for collective wisdom.... ::003:: I am just about at 7200 miles now and am due for the next service. Given my upcoming schedule and the dropping temperatures I don't expect to do much more riding before next Spring. My questions are as follows - Is there any harm in letting the...

    2016's on Yamaha's Website

I like my red '15 S10 better.... quote author=Bryce link=topic=17594.msg262098#msg262098 date=1444153293] The Yellow is sharp, but I'll keep my '14 Blue. Standard ES

2014 Side Stand Foot Vendors ?

I got the Altrider foot enlarger for my 2015 S10 and like it a lot. I especially like that it has raised the bike just enough higher up so that when I bike on a surface that slants downward to the left it makes it a good bit easier to get the bike off the side stand. Chris

Quality time with The Replacment....I mean, MY bike.

Couldn't agree more DD! I also have the red 2015 ES with 6000 + miles on it and find it to be the best I have ever owned. It's a blast in the twisties! Chris

Could you talk a bit about how your new 2015 differs from your previous bike in feel/performance? Just curious..... Ride safe!!!

    Tenere power ?

Oh boy....no, S10 is not a crotch rocket nor is it supposed to be. I just rode 6000 miles, two up and fully loaded and never found the bike wanting in power, even at 12-14k feet. It sounds to me like you simply bought the wrong bike although if you did some research before buying you would have...
