Dirt Bike Magazine Tenere vs GS article in the December 2013 issue

I ride enduro and trials and get the dirt bike magazines. Dirt Bike magazine started an adventure bike section a while ago and has a tenere vs the new water cooled GS in the December issue. Looks like most of the December stuff isn't online yet. Their take; the one area the Yamaha has the edge...

ABS, TCS, and check engine lights coming on

Thought I 'd post up the minor issues (so far) I have had with the ABS system since every search for anything to do with ABS only brings up massive amounts of posts about disabling the ABS and not any actual useful information about any actual problems with the ABS. I have 20000 on the bike and...

Coocase topcase for a very good price

I bought one of these from twistedthrottle.com for 189$ plus shipping in silver for my wife's Silver Wing a couple of weeks ago for her birthday. I found these on ebay at an excellent price, 99$ for white, 110$ for black, including shipping. They are quite nice, fully lined, decent paint, feel...

Wonderlich Tobinator screen adjuster for sale

I bought this to try and it works pretty well with the stock screen, but even as much as it helps the stock screen it is still not better for me than my Givi Air flow. The locking mechanism for the tilt is not stiff enough to work with the upper 1/2 of the Givi Air Flow screen so the wind pushes...

Rear shock preload quit working properly and it is not the knob

Mine quit working fully, it will work from soft to mid but complete stops tuning at the mid point and won't go any harder. It is on the centerstand, the knob is not stripped, it just won't turn, even with a wrench on the aluminum w/o the knob off. Anybody else have this issue?

MCN Dec 2011 Super Tenere vs BMW1200GS article

My December 2011 issue of MCN arrived yesterday. The R1200GS won by a small margin, the ST better that the R1200GS on the street and the GS better off road, mainly because of its lighter weight, even though the ST had far superior suspension than the BMW.

Stock screen vs. the Yamaha tall screen with the seat adjustment

I spent some of the 600 mile break-in time the other day trying the stock screen, the Yamaha optional high screen, and adjustable seat in all their combinations of adjustable positions. None of them were particularly good from a noise/buffeting perspective. The least objectionable for me was the...
