Welcome! I'm a ST owner in San Antonio. You mentioned planning a trip to Big Bend. I did a five day trip there last December and just loved it.

My MPG varies greatly with speed as one would expect. It seems that around a steady 65 mph, I get about 45 to 48 mpg. I rode to Big Bend from San Antonio last week and the speed limit was 75 mph. On this trip, I was averaging about 80 mph and my gas milage was in the mid to upper 30's MPG.

Thanks for the replies. I acually keep my bike outdoors but always covered. My bike mechanic tells me that he thinks it because Heidenaus tend to have harder rubber. I just replaced these tire today with Anakee 3s. I went through a set of K60s and liked them.

I purchased these in April of 14. Manufacture date is about Oct 13 based on mark on sidewall with 4013. Is this dry rot or some other type of wear? I rode these about 6 K miles. Mostly road with about 10% off road.

Just as an FYI to all, I ran two routes on or near Big Bend. The first was Pinto Canyon Road which is actually not in the park. It is about 40 miles NW of Presidio, TX. Just got back from Big Bend. All I can say is my S10 is bad ass. Loved how it handled even the toughest terrain. Ran into some guys on smaller KTMs and BMW and they were impressed. Here are some pics from my trip.
