Help! 76 yr. old ST1200 owner looking for final bike..........

How about the Honda VFR1200 X? Big smooth V-4 power and tall upright riding position. Not much heavier than the Tenere but it doesn't have the off road ability. The FJR for me was FAST but only when it was wound up to higher RPM's and because of lack of ground clearance it would grind the...

    California road trip

That's a long trip so be prepared for lots of highs and lows. Weather will be a factor and if you are on a tight schedule the trip could become more work than fun. My advice is take your time, ride as many of the scenic roads you can find, and enjoy the trip. It will be epic!

    KTM 1190

The KTM has two personalities, below 6000 rpm the engine is a little disappointing and leaves you wondering where the 150 hp. is. Crank the throttle at about 5500 rpm in sport mode and Hang On! Where the Yamaha is all torque and low rpm power the KTM has to spool up to make serious power but by...

    Moto Guzzi Stelvio

Re: Tenere ES vs Stelvio NTX The Stelvio has TONS of character but the air cooled engine feels like an antique compared to the Tenere. Seating position is good but your knees are just inches away from those cylinders and they do put out a fair amount of heat. Power is good but it's a torquer...

Turned to the Dark Side (Well Orange)

You will really enjoy the KTM, I had the 1190 Standard model with the electronic suspension. With the engine and suspension set to the sport mode the bike was a bona fide SuperBike. Hang On!

    Super Ténéré 2017 & Beyond...

Here in So. Cal. there are dealers advertising on Craigslist and Cycle Trader new '15 ES models for $12995 and new '16 ES models for $13995. Good luck with those " fees."

    Super Ténéré 2017 & Beyond...

Re: Super Ténéré 2017 & Beyond... Considering how many threads there are on this forum from potential Tenere buyers wanting to know where they can find the cheapest new bikes on showroom floors and that there are a bunch of highly discounted new unsold '13, '14, and '15 Super Teneres out...

Interested in a Super Tenere, but....

I'd say move on, the throttle in S mode on the Gen. 2 Tenere is definitely abrupt and you'll probably never come to terms with it. T mode is great for certain situations but otherwise neuters the bike to the point of being no fun. It's a great bike but not for everyone.

    Super Ténéré 2017 & Beyond...

On a side note, while it won't ever happen, I'd love to see Yamaha offer two iterations of the bike, one with a more dirt focus, and one more touring focus, like Triumph is doing. Or like the KTM 1190 Adventure and more dirt oriented 1190 Adventure R. Agreed, it will never happen.

Huh? My '14 and my '15 Super Teneres were both standard models and they both came with cruise control as standard equipment.

    Tenere Opinions

If you are looking for the least amount of hassels and the most amount of safety then you should probably stick with the Yamaha. I've owned all three of the bikes you mentioned and the Yamaha will give you the least amount of hassels but that being said, the KTM 1190 Adventure is truly...

Must Sell my brand new 2016 Super Tenere 60th Anniversary

I bought my Super Ten on March 24th and have ridden it twice, 153 miles on the odometer. Unfortunately due to family matters I'm going to have to sell the bike and move out of state - no riding for the next year or so. The bike is perfect, no dents, dings, scratches or damage of any kind...

Question I get asked a lot: Why the S10 vs a GS. Whats your answer?

Questionable reliability and BMW can't make the GS's fast enough and sells every one of them for over $22k! Almost equal performance and great reliability for thousands of dollars less yet there are still '13 and'14 and '15 model Super Tenere's sitting in Yamaha dealerships listed way below...

former Ducati Multistrada owners now on Super Tenere?

I had a '14 Multistrada S and it was the most exciting bike I've ever owned. Except for the nonexistent rear brake the bike was reliable, fun, and always left me with a huge grin after every ride. The Sky Hook suspension was great and with the different engine and suspension settings the bike...
