    Moving On... To an FJR

It sounds like the FJR will suit you better. I had an 05 FJR that I purchased new, rode it 30,000 miles & traded it for a Kawi C-14. Boy was that dumb! I bought & still own a 2012 S-10 that I purchased new. It was the perfect bike to roll up into our pickup truck while pulling our camp...

    NickNames/and how you got it

I was raised on a cattle ranch & punched cows as a kid. When I got back in to motorcycling in 2000 my ex-wife & I had a sizeable horse stable operation. Since I wear cowboy boots everyday... a Valkyrie motorcycle club I used to belong to gave me the nickname. BTW, a new pair of Sidi riding...

Review after 3k miles. The Good, The Bad, The Muddy.

Nice review & pictures. I rode that area quite a bit when I lived in Ephrata. Wenatchee is a great area to have an adventure bike. Now that I've relocated to Walla Walla I'm now exploring the Blue Mts. Sounds like the Tenere was the right choice for you. Happy riding! ::022::

    S10 or FJR

When I met my wife eight years ago I owned an FJR. She really liked riding on it. Over the next eight years I went through quite a few bikes but in the end bought a 2012 S-10. We use it mainly when we pull our travel trailer. I loads very nicely into our Tundra with our Black Widow ramp...

Super Tenere or FJR? Trip planned

Holy Hell! It appears you have purchased more bikes than me! I guess buying bikes is better than drugs or hookers.

Super Tenere or FJR? Trip planned

On Monday, I depart to a business meeting in Eastern Idaho. 650 miles each way. The weather is suppose to be in the mid-80's so why not ride a motorcycle? Even though I bought an FJR1300 last fall & know from previous FJR ownership that's it's the ultimate touring machine I'm considering...

New Guy Going From an FJR to an S10

Welcome from Walla Walla, WA. ::018:: I'm lucky enough to own both bikes. I ride the bike that best suits my mission. Solo usually the S-10. When my lovely wife joins me usually the FJR. All in all. The S-10 is more versatile & would be the last one to go. Welcome aboard.

    Renewed love for my Tenere

Late last fall I purchased a used 2008 FJR1300. I had a new 2005 FJR for four years & really regretted selling it. At the time, I had some financial issues to deal through (read expensive divorce) & selling my seven bikes at the time was a quick way to generate some cash. Since I bought the...

    Anybody have/use a Corbin seat???

I've always been a big advocate of Corbin seats. Had them on a Valkyrie, DRZ400, Kawi C-14, my past FJR. I also have a set on my 2012 Super Tenere,,,but...it's doesn't seem as comfortable to me. I get a point of pain right in my tailbone after riding a couple of hours. I though it hadn't...

    What do you carry?

I carry a small Walmart air compressor & tire repair kit. I've repaired two flats while riding. Funny thing is, neither bike was mine. First was a buddy on a Valkyrie group ride back in my cruiser days. The second was a brand-new Goldwing with a nail in the tire. The guy was going to call a...

what a hunk of junk motorcycle !!!!!!!!

It's those damned OEM bulbs! I'm going to change my bulb with Amsoil bulbs. Better mileage & the bulbs never have to be replaced! You did have an aftermarket filter over that bulb didn't you?

    Picked up an FJR1300 today

Put the guns away...I still have my Super Tenere. I had a 2005 FJR. When I met my wife seven years ago we put many miles on that bike while we were dating. We both loved the bike. I sold it in 2010 & bought a 2009 C-14 Concourse. The Concourse had had many great points but there were a...

Tires - what are you using for 90% street/ 10% "off road"

I just installed a set of Pirelli Scorpion Trails on my 2012 S-10. I've only put on a couple hundred miles so far but they seem to corner & grap the road well. Haven't tried them off-road yet.

    Almost bought a Valkyrie

I really like my 2012 Tenere that I bought new in two years ago but...my wife hasn't been as comfortable on it as she was on our previous Kawi C-14 Concourse. So, we 've been doing a little bike shopping for a more comfortable long-distance road bike. We nearly pulled the plug on a 2014...

    This bike is to slow

It's interesting how the swords come out when anyone states something a bit contrary about the S-10. I have to kind of agree with the OP. After having a FJR1300, C-14, & an FZ1 (& many others) prior to the S-10 the S-10 seems a bit lacking in the acceleration department. I tell my buddies...

    Our Tenere on vacation

I did not take the cockpit tour. My wife tried to get me to but I said " I used to get paid to sit in the cockpit, I'll be damned if I'll pay to sit in one". I'm a stubborn old Dane what can I say?
