We are nearly finished with our two-week vacation in Oregon. We haul our Super Tenere in the back of our pickup while towing our 21' camping trailer. It's been a very successful & enjoyable trip. We've ridden the Super Tenere around Crater Lake, through the Redwoods, & up & down the Oregon coast.
Having the bike in the back of the truck & parked at the campgrounds has been amusing. People are either speculating over how we get in in/out of the truck to what kind of bike it is. One older gentlemen had to tell us that he had a turbo Hyabusa that was the fastest , legal street bike made. Ya, right. Most people think it's a BMW. One guy said it was too low to the ground to go off road. I didn't think it necessary to explain that the forks were compressed by the tie down straps so the bike would stay in the truck. Several people in Florence, OR warned us that we'd better not take it out on the sand dunes! DUH! Anyway, it has been a conversation piece.
We have really enjoyed the rides on the bike & can't think of too many other bikes that would do the job so well. It' very predictable to ride & has plenty of power to haul us around, take the occasional gravel road, & pass traffic when needed.
Here I am with the bike at the Umpqua Lighthouse at Winchester Bay.
