Our Tenere on vacation

We are nearly finished with our two-week vacation in Oregon. We haul our Super Tenere in the back of our pickup while towing our 21' camping trailer. It's been a very successful & enjoyable trip. We've ridden the Super Tenere around Crater Lake, through the Redwoods, & up & down the Oregon coast.

Having the bike in the back of the truck & parked at the campgrounds has been amusing. People are either speculating over how we get in in/out of the truck to what kind of bike it is. One older gentlemen had to tell us that he had a turbo Hyabusa that was the fastest , legal street bike made. Ya, right. Most people think it's a BMW. One guy said it was too low to the ground to go off road. I didn't think it necessary to explain that the forks were compressed by the tie down straps so the bike would stay in the truck. Several people in Florence, OR warned us that we'd better not take it out on the sand dunes! DUH! Anyway, it has been a conversation piece.

We have really enjoyed the rides on the bike & can't think of too many other bikes that would do the job so well. It' very predictable to ride & has plenty of power to haul us around, take the occasional gravel road, & pass traffic when needed.

Here I am with the bike at the Umpqua Lighthouse at Winchester Bay.

I was wondering why I saw a Tenere in the bed of a truck at Evergreen Aviation Museum yesterday!

Soooo, how DO you get her in and out of the truck bed? I've got a Short bed Tundra 4wd and frankly am wanting to do what you are doing but am somewhat intimidated by the thought of loading/unlodading the super T. (That's a LOT of weight going up fairly high..... Ideas, thoughts experience appreciated!

I bought a Blackwidow motorcycle ramp on line. It's three ramps that you lock together. My ramp becomes 5' wide by 12' long. It then folds up in the Tundra with the tailgate latched. The folded length is 6'.

I start the bike & walk it up the ramp. I should just ride it in but I'll wait to try that when my DW isn't watching ::025::

We traded our Kawasaki C-14 for the Tenere for this reason.

I did not take the cockpit tour. My wife tried to get me to but I said " I used to get paid to sit in the cockpit, I'll be damned if I'll pay to sit in one". I'm a stubborn old Dane what can I say?

Well, He's right, actually. Especially, if he bought the late Bill Warner's bike. :)
Not only was the 1999 Hayabusa the fastest OEM motorcycle ever made, (they are all speed restricted now) but Turbo Hayabusa's (not OEM, of course) hold virtually EVERY non streamlined motorcycle top speed record that exist.
