This is a common issue, much reported on this forum - just do a search on "Spokes". The truth is the spoke quality is just shite. I've had both wheels re-spoked under warranty due to corrosion (together with other bits and pieces) - the second set is now fizzing away nicely after 6 months...

You are not alone. I had most of the shiny stuff on mine replaced under warranty including spokes, brake lines, gear lever, brake bolts, panel fasteners, final drive vent....etc. The spokes have gone again after 6 months...... I look after the bike well and it's kept dry in a ventilated...

This knocking at about 3K revs is pretty widely documented - happens on some bikes, not on others. Most people just live with it....

Ah, OK, so that'll be emissions regulations for the ECU I suppose in NA then? The top case mounting issue was nothing to do with the subframe. You are correct in your reply, it was the plastic top box/luggage rack mounting plate - I had mine changed - it just has a reinforced metal stiffener...

Checkswrecks - this is the first I've heard that the ECU and subframe on 2012 bikes is different - what's been changed?

I would say that 5000 miles is do-able. I went from Scotland to Tuscany (Elba) and back last year on PR3's - a mix of motorways, mountain passes and back roads and came back with plenty of tread to spare. Great tyre - no squaring off at all.

Did you get it done at Ian Bell Yamaha? They did mine and I thought I'd got new hubs as well.....

Yep, mine does the same. Never let water in yet either and I've been through some torrential downpours. Just another of the idiosyncrasies of the Yamaha luggage system I guess....

Because some dipped beam patterns highlight the nearside of the road more than the centre - not an issue in the country that they are designed for, but if you change to the other side of the road (as we in the UK have to do to drive on "the continent") then you end up blinding the oncoming...

Is the picture not showing it at its maximum anyway? Why should it go further than that?

Just had 10 days travelling down to Elba and back. No problems. Dipped beam pattern seems pretty flat i.e doesn't light up the near side of the road. No-one flashed me suggesting they were getting blinded...... Cheers Mike
