My OEM plastic one stripped clean nearly two years ago. I didn't bother replacing it as I use it so infrequently and it's nothing that an adjustable wrench can't handle. This item looks great but at $45+ to ship to Oz, I'll think i'll just let apathy reign.
I've ridden a few times to work in -7C (19F), but that was only for 20 mins. The coldest I've ever felt was riding for about 1.5 hours just under freezing. I sat in a chair all rugged up in a warm room for about an hour before I started to get any feeling back. In hindsight, I was so cold that I...
+1. Except I was alone and mine dumped my sorry ass halfway up a dirt track hill, taking the gear lever and left footpeg out in the fall. TC2 or off in dirt!
If it's older version, which I have, is anything to go by, it'll be great. I hope they've made the earphone socket mount a bit more sturdy, or at the very least a flexible mount; both my son's and mine have broken after about a year's solid use.
I've worked out that with mine, the reserve light comes on with about 6 litres (1.5 gallons) left in the tank. I've gone about 75 kms (46 miles) on reserve and filled up with 21 litres, which means there was 2 litres (1/2 gallon) left.
The bike has been barely out of my sight since I last touched that panel, either in the garage or with me out riding and coming straight back to the garage, so I'm struggling to think when something/someone had the possible opportunity to make such a stealth-like blow to the side of my bike...
No worries. While they do look like scratches in that photo, they are actually bug smears. I just cleaned them off and took another couple of photos of that same area post-cleaning, one with flash and one without. As it is o'dark o'clock here in Oz ATM they are not the greatest. If you're still...
Come to think of it, I had changed the brake fluid about a week ago, and there was some invariable squirting spillage when pulling the brake lever while changing that which I thought had all been captured in the big rag I had wrapped underneath the offending area. I thought I had wiped...
I've only done about 100 kms off road (out of a 40,000 km total), and even then it's been pretty tame mostly-graded dirt roads, so I don't think its that.
I'll look into the Plastech repair system, thanks.
Wheeled my bike out of the garage the other day to ride to work, and sitting next to it on the floor were these:
Upon closer inspection and removal of the right fairing cover, this is what I discovered:
It seems the fairing plastic around where the two right quick release fasteners...
