I have read a lot of post about a clutch mod but have not found the one that explains
What it is, how it works, and how you do it. I have tried to search for clutch mods but the list is longer then my attention span. Any help directing me to the original thread would be appreciated. I don't mean beat a dead horse, but I'm new to all this and have not quite figured out how all this works. Let me say thanks in advance, for the help. I hope ya-all know how help full you are. Can't wait till I can help the new guy!!!

The fastest way is to take any amp small fuse and stick in the back of the clutch switch plug. It acts as a jumper so to speak and tames out the abrupt off idle throttle response a lot of us feel. Some say it actually does away with the T and S mode. Many folks have gone the way of a on/off switch to have the choice of going back to T and S mode. I just leave mine with the fuse in all the time and ride in S mode.

Must be TN thing.............I too never read the whole damn post. I was talking to Jax about some other stuff and he told to install a on/off switch. Like 10 or 15 bucks and I mounted it on the clutch side. My only complaint is when in gear and I go to start........makes me nervous for the 2 secs unitl I realize why bikey no starty.

If I want long ass posts that take hours on end to read I would go to ADV. I have no desire to filter thru a bunch of posts to get what I need.

...very very simple.

get a blade style 5 or 7.5 fuse and tuck it over the wires that are "attached" to your clutch.

Get underneath your clutch lever and you will see an electrical connection.

Simply slide the blade fuse (*either side up -- doesn't matter*) over the wire connection.

It'll sit it there tight, and you will know if you have it in there correctly by hitting the started button IN GEAR.

Hold on to it - your bike will move/lurch upon hitting the starter button.

Then go for a long ride and whack that loud grip and see what you think.

Who'd a thought a little jumper could do so much! I did the mod this week and for me it's just to much. Traction control light goes crazy in the first two gears when you grab a handfull. It's fun as hell though!

yep, did mine on the weekend, and belive it or not, I actually took my bike for a ride to try it.
Works like a charm.
Some guys were saying that the bike would start with the clutch switch on, luckily, try as hard as you might
the kick stand switch has the final say.
Bike in gear, swtich on, side stand out, no go. perfect.

I couldn't make the mini fuse work (not long enough to connect the wires apparently), so I trimmed down the sides of a regular blade fuse to fit (and then filed the sharp edges off). Anyway, worked like a charm and I was relatively impressed by the difference.

Anyway, having read all 987 pages, I couldn't see where anybody knows how it works or what it does (beyond shorting the clutch switch). So, I wrote to Paul Dean at Cycle world's tech column asking for his interpretation. I'll let you know if/what he says. Afterall, they currently have a long term Tenere.

Good luck getting a response from Paul Dean, Nimbus. He retired from Cycle World this month. Lucky bastard! CW has Kevin Cameron to take his place in the Service column.
