Mk 1 trip button fixed - much joy

My number 1 button gave up the ghost some years ago, so I just rode without it, it's not a big deal. We all know the fix now of course, but I never tackled it because my soldering ability is non existent. During a drunken conversation at the weekend a mate said he did circuit board stuff... It...

    Lower exhaust for panniers

Its possible but not off the self. Once you fabricated the exhaust pipework and got it to run right you'll then need to fabricate pannier mounting rails as well.

XT1200 Super Tenere dropped by Yamaha in Europe/UK

I agree with you there Rob. I wouldn't be surprised to see a big bore version of the 900, hopefully with shaft drive, used in both a replacement tourer and adv/tourer. Yamaha has a habit of evolving engines this way, Tenere 750 to TDM 850 to TDM 900 to XTZ 1200 and similar with the litre...

XT1200 Super Tenere dropped by Yamaha in Europe/UK

It's a shame, but not unexpected. Sales of the Ten12 have never been that big compared to the opposition and the engine has only ever been used in the one bike, its most likely uneconomic to update the engine. I doubt they have ever made much money on the big Ten, not even on parts because it...

    Saying goodbye to my TDM

I still miss my TDM. And two cans too, proper bikes should have two cans.

    Rear abs sensor stuck. Help.

Cheers guys. I knew leaving it, drinking beer and asking for help would get results. In fact I may have another beer to celebrate ::003::

    Rear abs sensor stuck. Help.

Need to get the rear wheel off. Undone and removed the bolt holding the abs sensor in place, only today the sensor doesn't want to just slide out!!! I've stepped away from the shed and opened a beer before I end wrecking something! And advice on getting the damned thing to move?

    Left mirror pointing down

It's because you ride on the right side of the road so you use the left mirror more and wear it out quicker. In the UK ( where we ride on the left) the right mirror get used mostly... ::015::

Child Logic- it really does make sense!

Ditch that lunatic with the wig and the dodgy, older bird and offer your daughter the job. :)

Why is the S10 not included in comparison reviews?

Because it doesn't make huge horsepower or have bits blow up on a regular basis. God what boring bikes we have, and virtually nowt to complain about on the forums. Good thing I like riding it then :D

    Super Tenere Engine: Crossplane?

A cross plane on a twin isn't really possible, that needs to be a minimum of 4 cylinders or more - the word cross is the clue. As noted above our 270 deg crank does offer some of the advantages in that the crank doesn't have the stop/start you get with a 180 or 360 crank (regardless of the...

If You Haven't Washed Your Helmet...

If the lining isn't removable you can gently clean the entire helmet in the bath. DO NOT do this while you are in the bath because a large quantity of dead flies will come out of the vents and turn the bathwater into a soup. Don't ask me how I know ... :(

    Odometer/Trip reset switch

I'm a member of the one button club and am living with it. Damned if I'm posting me clocks off to Singapore! But as we say ::021::

    Scotland/Northumberland Trip

If you do I can recommend heading inland of the A1. Keilder forest is a good ride, and if you fancy crossing the border lots of nice pretty roads round the back of the Cheviot ... just beware of innocuous looking fords. Don't ask me how I know ::010::
