If the lining isn't removable you can gently clean the entire helmet in the bath.
DO NOT do this while you are in the bath because a large quantity of dead flies will come out of the vents and turn the bathwater into a soup.
Don't ask me how I know ... :(

You should...

... Removed the padding and put it in the kitchen sink with warm water and a dab of soap. Let it soak for 30 minutes. Drained the water and rinsed the padding. Hung the padding out to dry in 100 degree sun. Came inside and saw a dirt ring around the sink. Cleaned the sink. Note to self... clean the helmet padding more often. That's your head you put in that sweat box.

... Also hung my jacket on the patio and rinsed it with a hose. Used a box fan to help dry it.

... All this after riding in beautiful 102*- 106* summer weather. But is a dry heat ;(

From last Monday. I should wash my helmet. ::025::

REM,
we all can't live in winter 10 months out of the year.....

Ah August (aka autumn), when an old codger's fancy turns to thoughts of motorcycling. Actually, my thoughts have mostly turned that way full time. Had a nice ride yesterday down to the Alaska border. Cool, windy, cloudy ...... your basic autumn in the Yukon. Almost time to put the old boy away. Life's a bitch ... and then you park your bike for 10 months. R ::025:: ::022::
