Just how wrong did yamaha get the launch of the S10?

I haven't been on the forum for a while and have just stumbled across this thread. I guess i was one of the lucky ones to get a deal as a result of the low interest at launch, i picked up a First Edition model with 62 miles on the clock for £9500 in Dec 2010, it had been a demo bike, and i had...

Hive Mind: Altrider Crash Bar Install Query

Thanks for posting that video Rob, i've taken a couple of measurements of mine, i wonder if i could trouble you for the same measurements from your bike, i suspect the 'ring' on mine is too high, the first photo shows mine closer to the top of the mounting plate than yours does.

Hive Mind: Altrider Crash Bar Install Query

Thanks for the prompt reply, i've triple checked the Altrider install video, it seems confused, see pictures below with the various time-stamps from the video. Is there a difference in radiators' from first model year i wonder?

Hive Mind: Altrider Crash Bar Install Query

Hi All, Just received and fitted my Altrider Crash Bars (lowers only) to my 2010 ST10, i have an issue with the radiator support, let me summarise: > The instructions said to fit the radiator support rubber into the ring on the left bar and then fit it up. > The reality was that if i use the...

    Arrow advice please

I have a gen 1, arrow slip on, ECU Unleashed reflash, no PC, very happy with the result. I would recommend the flash over the PC if you have to choose as the flash also removes restrictions in the first three gears that the PC cannot touch (in my understanding).

    dyno setup

My brother in law used them for a tune on his Ktm super duke, they did a great job, dead friendly, knew what they were doing, his mate had an Aprilia Tuono done at the same time, again a happy customer. No direct Yamaha experiences to share though.

    Need to upgrade Passenger Seat

The Sargent pillion seat is very good, so my wife tells me. As as been said, the riders seat is 'ok', I use mine with an airhawk and I find that gives me enough comfort.

    Sticky downshifting

I'll join the others to say that lubing the shifter shaft helps, but I will also tell you to consider changing the clutch fluid if your bike is nearing the 3 year old mark. I've just changed the fluid in mine, being careful to remove every last air bubble. The transformation is brilliant - I had...

Campsite recommendations wanted: Belgium, near Trois Pont (near Spa)

Hi everyone, a friend and I are planning a long weekend riding the roads of Belgium's Ardennes region at the end of the month, I'm looking for any recommendations on a biker friendly campsite in the area, I've been looking at as spending three nights in the Trois Pont area and riding out from...

    Recalibrating the Gear Indicator

I haven't tested my theory but I think the ecu is smart enough to increment the odo accurately and display the speed with an intentional preset "error". Adjustment with the Speedo healer may make the odo inaccurate. Just a thought.

    5th Gear Whine

I had this issue on my bike, a UK first edition model. Yamaha authorised a warranty repair which fixed it. Had no issue since. The gear that they replaced had no visible signs of an actual failure, pm me if you want more details of my case to raise with your dealer.

Yamaha UK announce XT1200ZE Super Tenere

And ABS that can be switched off too, a detail hidden away in the features section, funny they don't list all the changes in one easy list.

This is a recent picture taken on the west coast of the Isle of Man during TT week this year, great road, great weather, calm Irish Sea and loads of sun. :)
