Walther, good guns*Drool*
I’m thinking of another in the coming months… potentially going for an Sig or Walther.
I've got one of those exact Rifles. I have not attempted to research the history on it.Newest addition to the family is a ‘42 Mosin Nagant 91/30. Probably nothing special in the states but legislation is difficult in the Netherlands and this took some time to become mine. It is a well used one with great history and 2 Russian marked refurbishments. One to the stock (later type, with different holes for the sling and a crappy paint job) and one to the mechanics (a rebluing, and a counterbore what I can see) It has great history and shoots very true. I use it as it was intended, bought 500 candy’s for the old girl.

Cool! The surplus steel case ammo is widely available and somewhat cheaper (300 for €90) but the story goes it is corrosive (the primer to be exact) I am not sure if it is true but to be sure I bought brass. €1.12 a pop…. Cough..I've got one of those exact Rifles. I have not attempted to research the history on it.
Mine came with the Bayonet also, and a box of surplus 7.62x54R.
I picked it up when I lived in AZ some years back, along with a Czech VZ-24 Mauser in 8x57.
I need to get those out to the range and blow the dust out of them!
That place near woodlawn park would be a good spot for those, let me know , i will be your spotterMy VZ-24 Mauser came with a few Bandoliers full of 8mm surplus ammo, already loaded in the stripper-clips.
I need some range-therapy!
I may just take you up on that! That place near woodlawn park would be a good spot for those, let me know , i will be your spotter
There’s this ‘thing’ in Australia that anyone who gets their licence all seem to want a Lithgow 303 (made here and used in WW2). For me, I drool about getting an M1 Garand but it would mean a different licence category where I’d need to prove that I have a use for it and my licence would need to be renewed every year instead of once every 10 years. Those lumber rifles got me to thinkin'. I don't remember ever showing off my wood. This ol' thing was part of the deal with my benefactor; (2) M1a and this M1 Garand built by Springfield Armory. $10.00 usd each. The bottom pic is kinda hard to see the Springfield crossed cannon imprint.

That's always been a big consideration for me on whether or not to get a gun; how much does it cost to feed it? The $10 purchase price also included a couple of hundred rounds of .30-06. And a bunch of the required clips. It isn't a practical gun, but it's satisfying to shoot........plus I'd have to stock up on 30-06! . . . .
