Brilliant minds think alike! Less that a year before my O.E.M.'s failed and the Oxfords ADV's have been running strong ever since. $90 well spent.OldRider said:Don't let the "plug & play" charm of the oem grips cost you a lot of money. I have the Oxfords and they are just as simple to install, work as good or better and will save you a bunch of $$$$$.
Yes, they work with the menu screenJRE said:Curious - on the bikes that did not come with heated grips, when you install the Yamaha plug and play ones, are they controlled through the menu/screen interface just like the ones that came as stock?
Not on the 2012sJRE said:Curious - on the bikes that did not come with heated grips, when you install the Yamaha plug and play ones, are they controlled through the menu/screen interface just like the ones that came as stock?
This is correct. The pre 2014 wires exit through the top. The 2014+ bikes have a small rubber plug near the bottom of the stock throttle housing that gets removed. The wire exits through that hole.Moto Jimmy said:Interesting... Looks like the OEM design was modified at some point. My throttle side heated grip wire exits the housing at the top adjacent to the throttle cables and not at the bottom as shown in the instructions posted.
