That is a SUPER sign! Wish I could make up my mind on what to get. Dang good thing you don't have to pick the tires, I would still be researching, jeeze.

Hey, Tiger. I'm right with you on the panniers. No matter how much I look/research I just can't make up my mind. My parts manager has ordered all the Yamaha products associated with the ST and has told me that I have first rights to them as I have the only ST on order. If I don't like them he can sell them to another. If you'd like I can PM you when he gets the OEM panniers in and let you know what I think. BTW, I'm mostly a street rider thinking of doing a lot of off-roading but nothing drastic. Let me know.

[/color]The ones I have looked at don't show them as radials. Does this matter? The OEM tires are radials. Thanks. R

The Heideneau's are all bias tires. They dont make radials at all. I asked a lot of questions about that before I got involved. No issues at all... I have another bunch on order. If you ever have any questions about them let me know. Ill be happy to answer them, and if I dont know, Ill find out for you. Thanks

Thanks for that. So a radial tire is not required for this bike, or recommended ??? R

Prolly recommended. Theoretically, as long as they're both radial or both bias, things should be good. My problem was trying to determine tube type or tubeless. One will work both ways, the other won't.

I've mixed radial and bias before with no issues. IIRC, the early oil-head GS came with a mix.

See what this forum has done, I can't sleep. You're prolly up for work being an hour or two ahead of me. Mixed tires coming stock? Good to hear. Broadens the field for tire choices.

Sure, pm me when you get to check them out, one more opinion never hurts.

Speaking of tires, in our local club, a guy just got a new KTM 990 adv, he is going to send the wheels off to get them sealed so he can use tubeless tires! Reckon we can skip that step. LOL I did like his 18 rear and 21 front tho, NICE.
