I want to adapt the OEM (front) footpegs to the passenger peg mounts because my wife likes to stand up and finds the pax pegs too narrow. (She has to stand on some of the places we ride)

Need the whole enchilada - pegs, rubber inserts, pins, springs, detent balls.

Thank you

The price is right but I'm looking for OEM spec.

When I broke the right front peg, I moved the right passenger peg forward till getting new pegs. Yes the clevis pin is the same length and it would mount. However, the tip of the peg was oriented down slightly and as I recall there was a slight rotational difference. If you move a main peg aft then the tip should be oriented slightly up.

Because the goal is for your wife to stand on the pegs, it means she will probably be putting her weight on the upward tip, with more strain at the base end of the peg. If your pillion is as small as mine then it probably won't make much difference, but the strain could be a lot with bigger passengers. After mine broke, the porosity of the cast peg was really surprising. I stand on the pegs a lot and seeing the porosity was the initial thing which made me look to aftermarket pegs, resulting in this article:

Checkswrecks,

You make an interesting point about the angle and orientation of fitting front pegs to the back. Price is maybe the 3rd consideration after safety and comfort. New OEM front pegs kits aren't cheap, and perhaps they're not the best solution either.

Is that your bike in the webBikeWorld article?
Did you write the article?
I put a lot of stock in webBikeWorld reviews having found their experience/results almost always mirror mine.

I notice that the S-10 pictured does not have passenger pegs attached. Do you have OEM passenger pegs or have you modified/replaced them?

I appreciate your feedback given that what I'm asking for may not be what I ultimately am trying to achieve.

Checkswrecks is correct... I've messed with pegs several times for folks that wanted pegs that were built for the front that wont work on the rear and vise versa... Just as he said the angle is not the same and you would have to mod a front peg to work on the rear....

From the point of taking the front set and moving it to the rear, you have to remove peg material... And taking a set from the rear and moving them to the front, you would have to add material.

Jaxon,

Would it be possible (for skilled fabricator like yourself) to add some kind of extensions to OEM passenger pegs to achieve a bigger surface?

Make me an offer :)

Neil

Yes, but because the stock are cast it's not a good idea. For the safety of your wife.
