I considered the DRZ, DR650 and a couple of KTM's. The KTM's required more maintenance than I like to do (I like to ride ::008:. I was worried the little 250 wouldn't be enough but the fuel injection, mpg's and maintenance schedule swayed me over.
Over 1200 miles of back roads, some highway and some single track. If any of you were worried because of the CC's, don't. It pulls my 6', 3'' 250lbs at 65-70 without seeming the least bit stressed. Gaining speed beyond 70 requires patience but it keeps going and is still pulling at 80 in 6th gear (it will do power wheelies in first too). At 60 it will get high 60 mpg's, faster than that and it drops into the low 60's. I'm in the process of getting another set of rims so I can have the DOT knobbies on one set and some Scorpions on the other. I put the Pirelli Scorpions on to save the Knobbies for now...What a hoot on the street! -they're not horrible offroad either.
The only problem is the whole world begins to look like and offroad park. This thing is likely to get me in trouble. >
What an awesome bike! I couldn't be more pleased...and it looks really nice next to the super10.
