Being a Seattle area implanted resident, I am still a fan of the Steelers. Last week I was in Pittsburg for the game and almost took a picture of the 1 of 6 Lombardi Trophies they had on display. I was going to send a FB message to people back home asking if they had six of these. I didn't, and didn't want to stir the pot. I know and accept Steelers recent loss. It's all good. How unexpected would it be if Carolina went to Superbowl as a losing record entry team? Crazy would be the word.

Football crazy family. My whole life.
Gotta admit that NFL is my 3rd favorite flavor though.

Texas thing, maybe? High School football is religious experience, nearly. Got one little brother that coached to a State Championship.
His life has never been the same since. Opportunity knocks down here once you get cred.
College football is next, of course. I could write a book on how much adventure we had over the last few years following a small college team. 50,000 miles of following.

Regardless, I'm gonna have to pick Seattle as my favorite. Not just favorite odds, but favorite team to watch.
I'm a passionate fan of defense. I love a 10-3 game. So rare these days. But Seattle's defensive masterpiece in last years Superbowl might be the finest overall team effort I've seen in years.

I've been a big cowboys fan since the seventies! Last year my wife got me tickets to see Dallas play Green Bay for my 50th birthday. Remember that epic collapse!! Now we have a chance to redeem ourselves.
There were bad calls on both sides on the ball so I don't think you can blame it all on one play. The fact is Dallas scored 17 unanswered points.

My daughter is a huge Cheesehead so it will be a fun Sunday at our house!

Are you ready for some football!

You are a man of impeccable taste, Snake.
As for you, Jeff ... now I know the real reason you painted your ride yellow. And the Steelers won 5 rings. The 6th one was won for them by the refs ( a still bitter Hawks fan).

Now, how come our UK forum-mates aren't talking about their football?
Where do I start ? My local side is Newcastle United who have just lost their manager and will probably fizzle out during the season to finish safe, but not far up the Premiership table (already out the FA cup at the first hurdle...). Internationally we have a few overpaid and underachieving oafs representing us, so not much to crow about their either. The thing that is REALLY annoying me about soccer at the moment is the amount of diving. Players go down from a nothing tackle as if they've been taken out by a sniper in the 4th row... Shameful. It's cheating whichever way you look at it and it's ruining the game and setting a dreadful example to the kids watching.

Rugby is a bit more like it, huge fellers battering into each other with no diving or messing around and never complaining unless they have to go off because a cut 'only' needs ten stitches...

That's what I am talking about, RUSH-MAN. I have a colleague in Oban who is a huge Newcastle fan. I don't quite understand the game (what we call soccer). That "flopping" thing is certainly a repugnant part of the game. Rugby is nuts.

I live in Dallas Ft, Worth and a Cowboys fan.... WHAT a game last night ! I was at a buddies house and I think I scared him a few times with all the yelling and screaming I did last night at the TV ! :D Even if your not a fan, that was a bad ass game !!! ::012::

The Lions looked like they were on fire and thought we were going to loose. Even at half time I thought, O crap, this is it... Second half was epic !, what foot ball games are all about !!!

WOOT - WOOT - WOOT !!!!! ::012:: ::012::
Good game marred by that shocking no-call. Sucks when officiating mistakes affect the outcome of a game. So many times that has happened, in big games, and in every sport. Remember the infamous "no-call" on Drew Pearson's push-off in the end zone against the Vikings in '75? I sure do! Knocked a 12-2 Vikings team (I think) out of the playoffs. I grew up in Minneapolis hating the Cowboys. Was a good rivalry back in the day, not so much any more. After the Vikings traded for Herschel Walker in '89 and paved the way to three Super Bowl wins for the Cowboys I gave in and quit my Cowboys hating, except for Michael Irvin who I still can't stand. And after 30 years in San Diego I'm as much a Chargers fan as a Vikings fan anyway.

The real question is WTF was Chris Christie doing whooping it up in the Jones's in the owner's box??

I'm calling Seahawks in NFC (but rooting for Packers) and Ravens in AFC (but rooting for Denver). So that means it will be Dallas and New England in the Super Bowl, and that's why I don't bet on sports!

No he isn't. I did a bike tour of Scotland in 2009 (on a rented GS). You are correct. Some of the best motorcycle riding anywhere (not to mention distillery pit stops). :p (not that we drank and rode - that was after we parked the bikes at night).

Oh yes, you've got to be careful at the distilleries ! We stayed in Elgin with some friends in a rented farm house a few years ago and went to the Glen Moray distillery. There were seven of us in total and no one can remember how we got back to the house...

Some belting roads in Scotland and I try to get a long weekend in up at the North at least once a year (usually with Littledave). Living close to the border we regularly have runs through the border towns and the like, St Mary's Loch being a regular destination - http://visitstmarysloch.org.uk/

Yes, that was the place where we were whisked into a mysterious time vortex, losing all sense of time and direction. Must have been Doctor Who ? Or more likely the single malts...

I absolutely love single malts - one of my favourite sports! However, getting inebriated on those spirits is not a good idea. Nose and sip. Almost wish they didn't contain alcohol .... almost.

My, these threads go off on tangents, don't they. Maybe we have to start a new one: "Super Tenere owners who appreciate single malt?"

GO SEAHAWKS! All the way to number two, baby! ::014::

::026:: I still have a bottle of the very limited edition Glen Moray 'Mountain Oak Malt' - bottled in February 2007 it's number 101 of 1158. It's still in it's lovely presentation box and has a bottled strength of 58.6%. I'm keeping it for a special occasion ::008::

You can't get Glen Moray easily in the US. I picked up a bottle of "inexpensive" 12-yo in a tourist shop on Princess Street when I was over in Edinburgh in December. Going to wait until my riding buddy comes up from his home in Florida, to crack it. My goal was to have a bottle from each distillery that I have toured (12 and counting). That was the last one.

By the way, to get back on topic (this is a motorcycle forum), we are planning for "M.A.L.T. Way Round Part Deux" tour in a couple of years, to follow up our 2009 one. M.A.L.T. is an acronym for many things, and we made up new meanings through the last trip ("Middle Age Lads Tour"; "Make Another Left Turn"; "Macallan Aberlour Laphroig Talisker", etc.). Perish the thought that we have to rent Beemers again. ::022:: Two questions for UKer's:

1) Are there any places in the UK (preferably Scotland) that rents Super Teneres?
2) Does anyone know what happened to Highland Rider out of Linlithgow? Owner was Peter McCintyre. Seems to have disappeared from the web.

No liquor expert, but I did notice the hoopla about this bottle sitting in my bosses office.
(that desk is a wing off of some aircraft and the legs of the desk are Saturn(?) or Gemini(?) era booster nozzles)
They said some outrageous $value about the Tequila. More than the desk! lol
So I took a pic.

Since this is a football thread, I will just say Cheers! And may the team you care about give you a great game to watch!
