Wow the price of a CCT

Had a look at the cost of a 2014 CCT for my 2012 and it was £180 here in the UK from aj Suttons is that normal seems like a lot when one for a VW is £50?

Have a dealer order a manual CCT from Parts Europe, problem solved.

180 = 337.57

seems brutally high, unless they are including all labor and taxes and dinner and a show.....

I believe a British Pound is worth $1.41US. So the CCT costs $254.

+1 on buying your parts from the US. Saved myself a small fortune getting my '14 clutch basket from America, despite the shipping & insurance being a tad pricey.

Complain to Yamaha that it was a defect and that this defect was recognised by Yamaha and they upgraded the CCT. Request a replacement under warranty since this is a latent defect. I'm talking from experience.

I was going to change mine as part of the 24,000 mile service until I saw the UK Price.

Although US is about half price, by the time you ship a lot of the saving has gone, and then you might have to pay an extra 20% import duty which makes the saving pretty small.

I would avoid a manual tensioner having bought an S10 partly so I did not have to adjust a drive chain every 5 minutes I do not want to start having to go through some complex procedure to adjust the cam chain tension instead.

My thoughts now are that as Long Haul Paul managed to get over 100k on his and many other folk have gone past 50k on the original CCT I will wait until it gets noisy - it may never happen :exclaim:

I didn't have much luck with the 2014 unit. After 2K miles went over to the MCCT.

Any dealer/repair shop over there should be able to order you a manual cct from Parts Europe which is the same as Parts Unlimited here in the states. Here is a screen shot of the PE catalog, page 1429. You'll need the MCCT for the late model R1, part number 0925-0782. Sells for $60 in the states. There are probably other brands available.
