Oh, I guess I didn't answer the question 'cause I was so surprised.

Why did you sell the last KTM?

Maintainence wise, it's a piece of cake. You'll have way more time to do what your SO tells you.
Sold the 990R because it was too damn tall, the wind buffeting sucked and there is no fix for it outside of removing the windshield, and the bike was not comfortable for me. I have other bikes for offroad so I wasn't using that benefit of the bike. Plus maintenance sucks on KTM's - that doesn't mean they are unreliable, but they are built to racing spec and the maint. intervals reflect that! If Japan made a WR450R street legal, I'd buy it and sell my KTM 525 instantly.

The ST would be primarily for street touring and easy gravel/dirt. I had an FJR before (as you know) but I could not get super comfortable on that bike, and I had major issues with engine heat. The ST should be more comfortable than the feejer, and it's more versatile, so it would probably have a longer tenure in my fleet.

Absolutely I would buy one again.

This is my 12th different bike I've bought in my almost 40 years of riding. It is at the top of the list of favorites.

I could have bought a BMW but just didn't feel like I fit in the clique.

I sure wish my 2013 had the cruise control. Never had it on a bike before but as I get older I have more trouble with cramps in the throttle hand. Don't really think I need the ESA though. Who knows, I may buy a new one and transfer all my goodies onto it. :)

If you look at my signature line you'll notice I already answered that question with my wallet.

Considering everything on the market today, would I do it a third time? 100% yes.

I sometimes wich that I bought the Triumph Tiger 800 xc because of its more conventional (21 inch front wheel and no drive shaft, I want an extra set of wheels but they are so freakin expensive) but then I watch the "Urban enduro" video with Francesco Catanese and then realise I made the right choice....

Snake,

Don't know how you took this photo but your Tenere looks like a fine scale model way cool!!

As far as A keeper it will be my last bike..

Actually, just messing with the crazy stuff on this Nokia 1520. I've decided it's not a big phone. It's a small quad processor computer with a crazy 20meg camera. Just happens to have a cell phone imbedded.

(the pic was actually shot with a Nokia 920. I fetched it from the cloud and goofed with it)

Does make the bike look like a toy. Crazy.

Would buy a Tenere again in a heartbeat. Don't need, nor want another serious-riding bike, just gonna keep tweaking this one until its absolutely perfect. Not far to go after the flash, just need to (finally) decide which panniers to go with - every time I think, "just get the damn factory ones in black and be done with it", I see a pic here with the Zega Pros and think, "dammit those are nice and deserve what I want." We'll see how that finally works out at some point.

Next up is the suspension - I've gone back-and-forth between Penske and Ohlins so many times I feel dizzy. I've finally decided, though I'm not gonna say what I've decided on because someone will bring up a merit of the other one and I'll be back in Dizzy Town.

The only other bike I want is an old Triumph to restore and serve as the requisite Garage Queen only to be ridden on perfect weather days nearby. Any serious distance or serious riding will fall to the ultimate do-it-all-in-perfect-comfort-bike ever...

I was on the original list to buy. Waiting and anticipating riding other bikes. I must say I had a little buyers remorse after taking delivery. I don't know just what I expected but didn't quite fit the bill. That said! and after 15k across the Continental divide several times and countless passes you wouldn't pry it away from me! I will take a Very impressive motorcycle for me to change!
If I were to guess I'd say Yamaha S/7 (700cc, 270 crank) 80hp, 450#.

Oh yeah. Eyed the Tenere and bought a KLR instead. One year later I got the Tenere and lovebit. Kept the KLR too. They both have their place, but the S 10 is the best bike I have owned in the last 30. It's that good.

I replace my R1200GS 2008 with my S10 2013 and will never look back.

Love the bike, and so far, no issue, and a terrific service at my dealer.

It also look damn great!

Ah,,, excuse me but WOW, she doesn't happen to have an unmarried sister, does she? I just slipped on my own drool.

Besides the work on creating one of the sharpest pictures of an S10 around that I've seen, the bike is impeccable, beautiful. ::018::

Don't tell my Blue but I'll take one.

Congrats there Mister ST!!!!!!!!!! ::012:: ::012:: ::012::

Cheers, dean ::001::

Yes I would by the S10 again. It has exceeded all my expectations. Really has to be among the best bikes I have ever owned.

With 60000km on this one, let me tell you, I would buy ten of them again and again. It is a bike to behold and to love and to ride.

Would I? Unquestionably. I'm going to move from a '12 to a '14 for it's features. Each bike I've owned has been ridden for it's specific purpose and the S10 meets or exceeds many of those machines' capabilities... Combined. A friend calls my S10 Jack, for Jack of all trades.
