I really like mine and it does many things very well and is the most comfortable bike for me of the dozens that I have owned. My only issue is the weight which doesn't effect the handling adversely when moving but man is it heavy to push around etc. If Yamaha came out with a 800-900cc version of the bike and dropped 100 pounds I would have to give it some serious thought.

Yes, I would.
Reliable, easy to work on (valves not so much)
works well.
bought without a test drive (early release)

you can not go wrong.

Besides, I never learn. Just bought a fz9 witout driving it.
Got to ride it before the snow came, another winner.

Yes. My only qualification is that I'm a bikewhore and at any given moment I may be horny for something else. That said I plan to keep the s10 in my stable for some time. I do need to add a Goldwing, an HD, a Ducati, a KTM and a few others to feel complete though.

Yes, I had a 2012 Super T for a year and 20k + miles. I got a bug up my ass to try something different now and a year later I just bought a 2013 Super T.

Haha!
Flash this one and keep it.

Absolutely -- without a hitch.

Electronic Cruise would be a hit...but not a deal breaker.

I will not let mine go -- there's nothing else out there that matches it.

Owned both the R1200GSA (2010) and 990 ADV (2007)........for the money the ST is the best bikes around.

I also own a KLR650...the ST is akin to this bike in that it may not do somethings as well as others but it will do everything and almost anything you ask it too exceptionally. If you consider sticker price, maintenance costs, farkel costs....this bike is a steal.

Its interesting when people compare these machines.....I would guess that 99% of the owners cant ride these bike close to their potential anyway.....bragging rites are are a waste of money.

This is one damn fine bike....

HELL YEAH AGAIN!!! Wait, I only have 16k on this. It will be along time before I need a replacement. My future bike purchases will be towards bikes to ride along with daughter as she begins to ride either dirtbikes or quads. Oh, and will find some vintage bike for a tinker-toy!!!

After 2+ years and 33,000 miles on this Beast, if it were stolen or totaled, I'd buy the exact same bike again. In fact, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another 2012, new or used. And, I would farkle it 99% identical to this one. It's THAT perfect! Even my wife is amazed that I haven't shown any interest in buying any new bikes or even ride any of those I already own.

This is the GSA that BMW still hasn't built. And they had their chance to get me.

Snake,

Don't know how you took this photo but your Tenere looks like a fine scale model way cool!!

As far as A keeper it will be my last bike..

Geeeezzzz Maniac !!!!!!!!!!

All you had to do was ask. You can ride mine anytime.

Didn't know you had finaly come to your senses. Was it on Facebook :p

BTW, you suck ;D

And before anyone has a hissy fit, it's an inside joke.
I've ridden with this guy since 2005. In fact, it was because of his suggestion that I bought my Tenere.

Hey Carl! You know that I haven't come to my senses. I don't have any senses!

I need to ride a Tenere and for kicks I should ride the new KTM 1190, although I am afraid if I do that, I will buy it and regret it later (I am experienced in this area).

Whatever I get I'll be up for some street rides soon.

Oh, I guess I didn't answer the question 'cause I was so surprised.

Why did you sell the last KTM?

I would buy it again in a heartbeat. My poor KLR is just gathering dust because I love riding this bike.

It's a great 2 up tourer, you saw what I could do with it last year in DV.
Solo - would I take through Mengel? No, but there are other riders here that could and you could too.

The ABS on this bike is fantastic, even in the dirt. I do have to say that I prefer a chain drive over the shaft in the dirt, but it's a minor thing.

Maintainence wise, it's a piece of cake. You'll have way more time to do what your SO tells you.

Yes, it has some niggles, but they are small / easy to fix.

The only thing is if I was in the market now I might be tempted to see what price the new one could be had for as I would like cruise control.

I still think they're are better bikes, the KTM would be a money no object choice, and I know the new BMW will be a great bike to ride, I also like the Tiger 1200 and would love a Multistrada in my dream garage, but the Yamaha is more than adequate in all areas (especially with sorted suspension and ECU flash) and I have no worried about riding it, I would be concerned about reliability / service costs / depreciation on any of the others.

In threads like these, we all kind of stroke ourselves. With 2 years and 25,000 miles on the Super Ténéré, I haven't even itched for anything else. I can't actually think of a suitable replacement that meets all of my riding and serviceability requirements

Some of you guys talk about neglecting your other bikes, that hasn't really happened with my WR250R. However, we have been neglecting our 5th-wheel trailer because for the last 2 vacation seasons, my wife and I have been taking 2-up moto-camping trips instead. She does love her Corbin passenger seat with back rest.
Ain't that a peach ::018::

When you ride the fun roads, you don't need cruise control ::001::
Yes, I rode to work today, as usual. It was 32F, but as we say in Southern Nevada - it's a dry cold.
