REM - Thanks for the additional pics. That will be my exact setup, whenever it gets here that is. Thanks again.

Also, what is the width across the bags? Seems I remember 36.5".

I have my panniers all the way to the rear, and as high as I can get them. There are two setting each way on the panniers, forward and back, and higher and lower. Probably about 4 inches play each way.
Nicely designed. Simple and elegant, but strong I think. R

WEll, I don't even have 20 miles on the bike. Too much going on today, but over the weekend I hope to change that. I can only make tentative observations at this point, but here goes, in no particular order.

Comfort - yes. High. very comfortable. Soft seat and nice suspension.
Overall handling - very smooth. Easy. Feels light for a big bike.
Sound - awesome. A mellow, resonant rumble. Not overly loud but a full, rich sound.
Power - more than adequate. Noticeable difference in touring and sport modes. Sport mode is quite zippy and good pick up.
Controls - tight. Responsive. Throttle is tight and quick. Clutch tight. Feels like a new bike should feel.
Lights - double headlights on all the time ... double low and double high. Front running light. Very bright brake lights.
Dash - intimidating at first but actually quite simple. Clock, numerous warning lights, traction control, drive mode, fuel, fuel usage instant and avg., double tripmeters, digital speedo which is interesting ... It sneaks up on you. With analog, you can see it coming ... with digital, all of a sudden you're doing 80 mph. Takes some getting used to.

Possible negatives ... no storage compartments at all. Horn is whiney but loud. Windshield will be replaced on most bikes I figure. Too small.

Overall, a very nice bike. I came back home today and I actually met the water truck. The road was soaked and greasy. The bike never faltered once. Putted right up all the way without incident. Most impressive.

You're gonna like it. And by this time next year, there will be so many accessories available you'll have to take a third job to pay for them all. R
