1st Can I say, Love the Forum,
Heres the Question: To solve the helmet noise/ buffeting Should I get the Madstad adjustable mount or the MRA Wind deflector?
The Stock windscreen is great and I feel less buffeting, but now have the OEM the side wind deflectors and tall screen and the buffeting is unbearable at highway speeds.

My only experience is with the Madstad bracket. So I can't comment about the MRA deflector.

I've not found the perfect set-up yet… I don't mind wind blast, but "buffeting" as I described in my one thread makes me motion sick. I know part of it is my XD4 helmet as its not nearly as bad or noticeable with a standard helmet. If I stand on my pegs at highway speeds, the air is smooth. so I know its a matter of air flow on the screen creating the buffeting.

I found that with the Madstad, I can find a setting that is least annoying at highway speeds which is what bothers me. With my height and build, 5'10" short in the leg, longer in the torso, if I put the screen all the way up and back (towards me), the buffeting is non-existent for the most part till about 55 mph, and not so bad up to around 70-75 mph….

I was told by a few people the problem is the design of the stock shield that it needs to be wider at the top rather than narrow as it does AND the angle is too steep. Some have told me to shim the bottom of the shield to help tip it back. I've yet to try that….

Every one is different personally I set my windscreen just high enough to keep the bugs off my face shield I use my hand to judge where wind is hitting I find using the proper helmet does more to quiet the wind noise bufetting issue

Thanks Guys! Seems like many have the same issues. Makes me wonder if anyone uses different windscreen set ups for different riding conditions. I had the same issues with my Harley and got tired of chasing smooth clean quiet air. Maybe there is no "Just the right set up"?

I've always used Shoei RF series helmets but came to the realization that this was not the best helmet for the "sit up" style riding position of the Tenere. It's works great with my Street Triple which has a more laid down riding position. Then I discovered their Qwest line which is designed more for touring. There was a dramatic improvement in noise and turbulence reduction with the Qwest. I also have the Madstad mount with a variety of screens for different purposes.

Madstad is a great option. Up and down adjustment is highly over rated compared to back and forth adjustment.

I have always fitted Hero Blobs Calsci screens to all my bikes......(Google it)
You can get different heights and although not for everyone, i like to have the car windscreen effect and go for the largest size which involves looking through the screen.
This cuts 100% of any wind blast guaranteed.
Every ride becomes pleasurable and helps me to arrive feeling fresh but i understand many riders would prefer a bit of windrush.

What year do you have? if it is a 2011-2013 would say get a Madstad, if it is a 2014, get the OEM tall windshield. Works great for me...

There probably is (or close) - sometimes takes some experimentation.

I have the stock windscreen on my '14 in the highest position and the turbulence and noise were ridiculously loud. I'm 6'2", 32" inseam and normally ride with a full face street helmet. Couldn't take the noise anymore, so I looked for alternatives....bought the MRA X-creen and installed it. What a difference!!!! I have it in the medium raised position, the amount of air that it deflects and how much quieter everything is, is amazing. I can now lower the volume on my music and even ride with a full on MX helmet at 80mph with no issues!!!

I'm new to the S10 but I have a touring screen with a Puig adjustable visor on it.
At 6'2" /34" inseam and either a HJC16 or Scorpion EX helmet I can get either clean air or no air to the face.
It is fine for me.

Coming across the TX panhandle last week and even the cars were being buffeted. No way around a 45 degree wind @ 45 mph!
