What exactly are you hoping for? If you get a bunch of votes in one category or another, then what? Or is this just some sort of social experiment?

No no no, no experiment.
But as all Kind of statistic, the bigger amount of answer, the bigger is the possibility for a accurate result.
That being said, I know that statistic not always is the correct answer.....

Nope, Consumers Report is notoriously unfriendly to manufacturers. They are fully subscriber supported and accept no advertising. If a manufacturer's product does well in one of their evaluations, they even prohibit that manufacture from using any of their results to promote their product.
