To the left makes it lean a little more..................and because!

No other reason than what Ace50 writes.
I also think it is posible to lock both ways..
So mostly...because... :D

I always teach new riders to park with handle bars full lock the left and dismount on the left. Most bikes are much more stable and less susceptible to being tipped over by wind or slight nudges by other bikers, kids or other clumsy individuals that might bump into it. Give your bike a nudge with your hip from its left side with the handle bars to the left and right and I think you will find the bike is much safer with handle bars to the left.

According to Tim Morton, owner of Baja Bound, bikes should always be smiling in a picture...handlebars to the right.

I don't know how people dismount to the right, but personally, I mount and dismount on the left. Now, the MSF course, they teach left, but the state troopers teach right.

Steering to the right and dismount from the left. But it's all a matter of preferences.

I didnt even realize that you coukd lock it turned to the right until this thread. Other bikes I have/had only lock to the left, so I park turned to the left.

As for getting off a bike, always to the left. I think I'd fall off to the getting ogg to the right eccept for our TU250x

I am of similar view to Abercrombie in bars to the left but don't think it makes much difference.

With respect to dismount side, I can get on and off most bikes from either side. However, this bike is so tall that one time I was getting off to the right and knocked the bike over when my foot caught on the seat. I've generally just used the left side since then.

I actually some times have it standing on the sidestand, and have my left foot on the peg, while taking my right leg over the saddle and to the ground. Yes, my legs are short....inseam under 30 inch (77 cm)
I can do it without the sidestand :) :D

So I always dismount to the left, and normaly handlebar to the right (easier when dismounting to left)

And I still have hair, that I don't comp at all ???

All Police teach to dismount on the right because that keeps them away from traffic

That makes better sense. I was told once it was so they wouldn't get pinned under the bike in case the side stand folded up in all the rush.

I mount and dismount horsey style; bars to the right.

The police i instructor we had did not use the traffic as a reason, he said he was because of the way the bike would fall. I don't know. I am sticking to the left with this bike, that is for sure. Its already hard enough to climb onto with cases and all. ....and I mean climb.
