The current 108° makes that happen. The snakes are more afraid of us and help keep the field mice/rats under control. Scorpions live under stuff, so just be careful when you look under boards. And the tarantulas are big enough to see and avoid.

When we are getting rain on a regular basis, we also have crawfish in the roadside ditches in the yard. And since they don't have any natural enemies, some of them are getting to baby lobster size. My kids, and now grand kids, will put a string through a hot dog and lower it into the crawfish holes. When they grab the hot dog, you pull them out.

Just got back from my 12days to and back from Newfoundland - this was my first solo trip a total of 6221 KM in 12 days!

Take away(s): 1) plan some down time between you days of riding I rode every averaging over 500 Km a day next time I will plan to 2 days of travelling 1 day rest 2) I brought too much stuff - check if you can wash clothing in the places you stay I used less than 50% of the clothing i brought

Here are some pictures: sorry but I'm only allowed 10 attachments so there will be a couple more posts

Post # 3 last one on the second to last day I got to see some Icebergs (yeah I know they're small but it was late in the season for Iceberg watching on the coast - a couple of tidbits eat at chain restaurants, I got food poisoning in Maine (worst ever I nearly had to cancel my trip - a couple of gravol's a lot of water and a good nigh sleep and obviously vomiting )

FYI the secondary roads are not the best so be advised all in all a very nice trip and a good learning experience

Johnny Park Colorado. Ran about 30 psi today.

Putting caption at bottom of photo this time

Lower Loop start. Rare to see running water in August in this neck but a welcome reprieve from the August dust

Button Rock Reservoir and Preserve. No Dogs,camping,firearms...nothing. its a long hike down from this side
but you can hike in from the other side (shorter) but once the 60 parking space fill the area is closed until a car leaves.

This good section. I stay right then crossover and ride the skinny line of the left.
kinda blew it today and right at the end bounced down toward the middle and big
clanked the skid plate.....again.

Mt Meeker , 14K ft Longs Peak and Mt Lady Washington tucked into the south east corner of Rocky Mountain National Park

I usually bungle this descent section. Right, then crossover and try not to bang
the skidder on the drop at the bottom. Went well today. It looks so flat in the photo.

Near the end where it lets up switches to gravels road.

Last day in the Black Hills was an adventure. It rained the night before and I wanted to ride more of the off road portion of the BDR-X. Weather pretty good starting out. Tried one of the alternate routes indicated harder. Once it started getting more technical, it seemed too risky riding solo with it still slick from the rain.

Went back to do the "easier" route. Wasn't bad but major mud holes did not go well.

I needed my jack without traction to lift it.

I tried to go on but mud was starting to jam the front, and it was starting to rain. Turned around. Got through the mud hole that dumped me but the next one got me again. Landed in a BIG fresh wet pile of cow ____. Got it righted and headed out.

Enough rain had fallen that streams were running down the road. Decided to abandon the BDR-X and stuck to county gravel roads. Fine until the rain came hard and my phone charging cord failed. That's why the video loop is incomplete.

Highly recommend dry conditions for the off road portions of the BDR-X. The off road portion I rode earlier would have been problematic after rain too.

Hope the rain washed the poo off! Looks like a great ride if there had been more than one person! Big bikes in slick conditions by yourself can be bad! Great shots though!

I found one of those maps that highlight places visited. Countries in red are where I’ve been on my Super Tenere, that’s 22 countries including the one I live in.
Note - I have NOT been to NI nor the Mediterranean Islands on the bike, they get picked up when clicking on UK/France/Italy.
If my plans work out for the remainder of this season, the Super Tenere will have visited 12 countries in 2023.
