Jiivee, I knew when going to Scandinavia that’d I’d be doing a bit of light off roading, so I fitted a pair of those fork sock thingys, in the hope that I’d avoid any weeping fork seals. They were cheap and easy to fit. Might be worth considering.

Cheers
Good point, but... I replaced the new front fork oil seals and dust seals about a month ago. I thought about those fork socks at the time, but I left them out because I suspected they would collect dirt and moisture, which would spoil the new seals faster?

Well, that was just my thought and I could be wrong...

Home now…8992kms/5591miles later.
Was away about 10 hours short of three weeks. Used 441.19 litres/96.75 gallons/116.56 US gallons of fuel, a mix of 95/98 octane. Definitely feels better on the 98. That’s 57.78 MPG……47.97 US MPG……..if my calculations are correct.
Used no oil……or at least not noticeable. One headlight bulb went pop early in the trip, £10 and five minutes later, all was well again. Bike started on the button every time (14s battery). Set of new Tourance tyres lasted the trip and are now very very close to the end. The front as usual, wears oddly. Bike still sounds like a bag of spanners. Gear pivot needs another greasing.

Good luck and wishing you a great trip. Please do put some pictures up, it’s good to see what and where others are travelling to.

Wow! It must have been a great trip and amazing scenery. And looking at all your photos, I think the weather was mostly good too. Glad to hear you got home safely.

I have an Aunt and Uncle that live in Sedona, they have a timeshare apartment on Laguna beach. Fabulous place, stopped there with them in 95, been wanting to get back ever since. Times running out though, they’re getting quite old now, my Aunt will be mid 80’s now. Every year me n the wife look at flying into Pheonix and driving up to them. Flights are stupid expensive as we could only go in school holiday times. But my Uncle can book us into a local spa hotel for next to nothing as he worked for the Hilton group most of his life. Maybe next year………

Above and West of Boulder Colorado at about 8,000 feet elevation looking South. Just quick outing to test out new tent. Took about 35 minutes to get to this camp site from my front door. Dropped into Nederland for a Latte and a muffin in the Am.

Oh c'mon....
You are here and we don't meet....
Sorry Strummer, I wasn’t sure when exactly I was going to be there and how long for.
I only stayed in St Leonardo for 2 nights, but next time I will stick around longer so I can visit the museum at the top of the Timmelsjoch and I will give you a shout
