A lot of those homes for sale there, result in homes being built here. And that's different kind of sad. One thing we have in common is the growing homeless population.
Many of the current homes are being sold and the fire that destroyed many homes years ago are not being rebuilt. Even where I live I saw the first car camper ever about a month ago. I've been seeing way more homeless where I live and near work.

With the huge difference in the property exchange rate, that's no surprise. Prior to the current housing boom, our new houses were going for +/- $100 per square foot. So, sell a house in CA, or get a big insurance check . . . . and head to TX. I hear that there are billboards out there warning to stay away from TX. For the most part . . . . we're good with that.

I heard there are more and more homeless people in America! I thought it was a lie, as usual. Very sorry to hear that! Also, my friend from New York said that Americans started moving to Mexico because it's cheaper to live there. The trend is not good

First time driving! Ride for a week. I was convinced that August is not the best month for traveling in the South of Russia. Heat, everything burned out from the sun. The temperature fluctuated from +41 to +49. We entered Kazakhstan, the temperature was +49. Turned around and left there))

There are almost no motorcycle tourists. This speaks volumes. Now it's a luxury

In the Astrakhan region began to grow Uzbek varieties of melons. But almost all of them don't taste very good. The best watermelon, wherever I try watermelon, in Russia they are the most delicious.

Wow! That's really hot. We get those temperatures buy it's rare. Miserable to ride when it's that hot.

I'm Actually not tempted to go to TX no offense. I'm looking at UT or az once I pay off paying the house in two years and finish school.

Current residential new build cost here in NZ is NZD$3-4000/m2. 3x the cost of Texas? Thats nuts

Spent most of the day Saturday rebuilding and re-valving the Forks on the Super-Tenere, with the help of my friend Cap'n Ron.
(will put all that info in a separate post)
Got the bike all back together late, then took it for a short shakedown ride around the neighborhood.

Yesterday we went out all day in the mountains with both my bikes.
366 miles total for the day.
I rode my FJ1200, and Cap'n rode the Tenere.

I've always wanted to see where it starts, so we ended up where the Colorado River begins its journey.

It's 10-miles or so down a dirt-road and then a half-mile hike to the shallow Basin.
It is just inside the northern boundary of Rocky Mountain National Park.
The water collects in this Basin, and then flows out towards the southwest to become the Colorado River.
